Hey - I was on the Edgewater High School ranger team last year and will be on the Purdue University Explorer team next year. I was wondering if you could be nice enough as to briefly tell me how you encased the onboard computers of Genesis. I remember how solid your computer systems looked a few months ago and could use some advice...
It depends on what you mean by encase. We didn't "pot" the electronics in, (i.e. putting the circuit boards in a mould and pouring rubber in) we just made good and sure the electronics compartment was sealed. That way we could repair anything that went out in a matter of minutes. Fortunately we didn't need to at all. We did have a motor controller MOSFET go out on us, but we simply flipped the system into fail-safe mode and ran it that way.

We made the electronics compartment... well, designed it and cut out the pieces; we didn't have the skill to weld it properly. :)
