  • I'm most likely standing on the sidewalk a block from where this was shot as a 4yr. old boy .

    Thank you for the memories!

  • What a great place to grow up....we have mant rodeo movies I need to post. It just aint home any more....

  • Brings back memories! I was born in Franklin, butgrew up in Nashville. However, my family visited both sets of grandparents in Franklin nearly every Saturday.

My father's parents lived just about 2 blocks off Main St. When I was very young my mother, sister, and I would watch the parade from a 2nd story window of my great uncle's store on Main St.

  • this is amazing! I was a "Marching Rebel" and had to march the Rodeo Parade from 2002 until 2006. Marching over all the horse poo - argh. I nearly died each time (largest bass drum).

  • Ha! I'll be a "marching rebel" next year, and I play the quads. It sucks even more when you can't see the horse poo you're stepping in from the drums!

  • Do you have any more old videos or pictures of Franklin? I love seeing how this city looked back then.

  • No, but I posted a few of Nashville around the same time period...

  • There was rarely audio on 8mm film back then. Glad you liked it though! :)

  • Great glimpse of the past. It's nice to see my hometown where I was born raised and STILL live since 1971.
