@jkca7x no, ignorant purists call them deathcore because they are a young band and aren't quite the same as older death metal. i don't hear any core breakdowns in their music whatsoever, and yes death metal has breakdowns, they're just more straightforward than deathcore breakdowns. Purists are just too caught up in their "rules" to enjoy good music. get the fuck over it and listen damnit.

Used sparingly to accent moments in a song they wish to be especially heavy.... not, as alot of bands do nowdays....., intro - riff - random breakdown - another breakdown for no reason - riff - solo - breakdown - breakdown - breakdown......... it gets fuckin old is all im saying...

@nyy4life313 yes but those breakdowns aren't core breakdowns. a breakdown is essentially a part in the song where the riffs rhythm changes, slows down, and/or gets heavier. Most (if not all) music has these, especially death metal. the difference is, that core breakdowns aren't as straightforward as metal breakdowns because the time signature changes after each measure. and from everything i've heard from the black dahlia murder, their breakdowns are pretty straightforward.TBDM is death metal.

It is not enough to have full notes from everywhere, this must be drinking to hear.
