Quite beautiful. You captured the spirit of Bob Dylans most timeless classic. Anyone who's ever been on love can relate to this tune. I enjoyed your picking and your voice. Record yourself and listen often so you can make the necessary adjustments and you will be a perfect vocalist. I loved listening to this and I'm going to email it to my GF before she goes on safari in Africa.
All I can say is sweet : ) love to hear you live somewhere. As diametrically oppossed to what joecburke offers in his*coughs* review, follow your vocal it's beautiful, but separation from your vocal*the big thingy* and your picking is all that's needed. Keep doing what you you busker and merry Christmas ; )
Your guitar playing is very nice. On the vocals, try singing this as soft but rich or as a fast love song but don't push, with the same tempo. On the microphone, push the volume (recording) up but turn your voice down to get your softer and lower registers involved. Also while keeping the tempo at this rate, don't rush your singing or the pronunciation of the words. Most young singers compensate for weak microphones or bad recording sensitivity by forcing the voice, and this isn't necessary.
love shawn's version, & you play it with such sincerity that you practically reinvented it. good one! (the view outdoors complements the message of the song too)
I wondered through videos of John Prine, which lead to Norah Jones version. I kept seeing you pop up. I'll say this. We could go on a road trip anytime and agree on what CD is next. Many positive comments could be made, but we don't want you getting too big of a head. Thanks for the smiles and good times night.
Proof that you don't just copy. Dylan's was in open E (or D with a 2nd fret Capo) but this is a sweet version. Please do Buckets of Rain! That's in open E (duh, at your level I'm sure you knew that).
Beautiful. Ms. Colvin and Mr. Dylan would be proud.

There's a great version by an English guy - Ben Watt.

With the amber light on you (very winsome) and the snowy background outside this is a visual delight as well as the usual playing joy.
It would be good to hear your voice with a better recorded signal. When's the album coming out?
