The addition of substances like drugs alters the biochemistry thus altering the electrical responses. Psychiatric medications and other interventions e.g. hypnotherapy and NLP can interrupt habitual pathway patterns of response by altering the brain/body environment, ideally resulting in adaptation or learning.
the thing is that every brain is wired differently, the neuro-pathways are different for each human being, the same can not be said about motherboards, which have the same structure (any given model). So even if scientists would be able "hack" into the physical brain and gain access to the stored info, it would only work for that one particular brain, and you'd still be left with the problem of decoding the info, which is also encoded differently by each individual. I at one time took Oxycontin for major back pains from my job, I was also massive depressed (and had been for a very long time)turns out the Oxycontin I took for my pains alsohelped with my depression, but after I stopped taking the pain killer...my depression returned. The drug only masked it for a short ammount of time.
I had a problem when I was a teenager. I was very afraid to walk home because of the loose dogs on the streets. Once the dogs saw Im afraid the more they were after me. One day my brother gave me a Tic Tac, and said once I get off the bus, take one, wait 30 seconds, and for 15 minutes it will make me smell in a way that dogs will be afraid of me. And guess what, it worked!

the thing is that every brain is wired differently, the neuro-pathways are different for each human being, the same can not be said about motherboards, which have the same structure (any given model). So even if scientists would be able "hack" into the physical brain and gain access to the stored info, it would only work for that one particular brain, and you'd still be left with the problem of decoding the info, which is also encoded differently by each individual. Just my 5 cents

What she means is "remote sensor", not "remote control". An accurate analogy of that example would be Radio transmitter = Remote Control and Radio Receiver = Remote Sensor. The radio receiver can not control the radio transmitter because the opposite happens.

I think it's better to think of the mind as analog, not digital, so perhaps instead of thinking the information in our optics it in terms of 100 high def cameras, think of it as one really good film camera.

This is all basically true but I am not sure the point. I guess I will have to look at the other ones. I get the idea that psychiatrists would absolutly want to find something that works better. After all thats how they buy the big house and all that. Antipsychotics dont slow me down either. If fact I was sped up on atypicals until my health broke down, Then they refused to give me more than the minimum, Now they dont trust me and are trying to up it again.

I do not agree with one of your last statements. For years after being shot I suffererd not only from post tramatic stress syndrome, but paranoia. I was recomended Zoloft which I took for approx. 18 mos. I no longer suffer from depression, nor do I suffer from paranoia
So they can help certain individuals.....don't hurt people by voiding thier options...please!!!

All they did was hide the problem, the drug you took did nothing to repair your "mental illnesses".
this is exactly what she is pointing out. I at one time took Oxycontin for major back pains from my job, I was also massive depressed (and had been for a very long time)turns out the Oxycontin I took for my pains alsohelped with my depression, but after I stopped taking the pain killer...my depression returned. The drug only masked it for a short ammount of time.

I had a problem when I was a teenager. I was very afraid to walk home because of the loose dogs on the streets. Once the dogs saw Im afraid the more they were after me. One day my brother gave me a Tic Tac, and said once I get off the bus, take one, wait 30 seconds, and for 15 minutes it will make me smell in a way that dogs will be afraid of me. And guess what, it worked!

I agree, it is for coping. For example how we feel alters brain chemistry, and altered brain chemistry can affect how we feel. Stress under long time like in war can change your brain, interesting part is when you come back the stress wont leave, different part of brain talk to each other: "it's bad - I feel bad - oh it's bad"

Medication can, set levels to normal to stop the self reinforcing cycle. Eventually it is intended you stop medication and u r sorta healed.

2. hypnosis = information provided by authority figures (how we perceive them)
3. pain = reward or punishment
4. implanted commands = law and morals
5. amnesia = upbringing and conditioning.

There is a way to address the information level, but you have to understand the evolutional blue print of the human mind.
This blueprint is responsible for our mental make up and the way we interpret the world around us.
An obvious example of addressing the information level is culture / social upbringing.
Addres the proper affects, and you can use or abuse inherent mental functions, so that information will be processed selectively.

The pills are really bad from what I can tell, I can't stop taking them without being completely depressed for almost no reason.

This video doesn't explain the intended usage of drugs in modern psychiatry. Often the drugs are intended to counteract "the effects" of extreme conditions. This is not considered a cure but rather a temporary tool for coping. Once the drug has lessened the patient's experience of intolerable mental distress, they can then be guided toward recovery though the use of many techniques including progressive desensitization, visualization and affirmation producing long term benefits.

my friends wife is on anti depressants and she thinks they are the answer and she couldn't live without them. I have noticed her gums don't look to good and she has put on quite a bit of weight and has given up her job. Also her kids were fighting the other day and her todler was screaming the house down and jen was just looking out the window and I had to call her to kind of wake her up. She seems more distant and for me she seems kind of like in a day dream all the time. this video makes sense

I take med for depression n anxiety, but i was given the choice to take them; and i have a much more normal life thanx to them; but i do understand what you mean; i think one should be given all the information and all the choices and one should consciously decide if they want a med or not, actually i must say pills are not 100% effective, though they help improve life quality for me; but in th case of children could more tricky because they can't choose by themselves if they want a drug or not

If Christianity was the cure, than no Christian would die of cancer, catch colds or flus, nor would they suffer from mental disorders. Science would be studying Christianity fervently for a logical answer, and the world would flock to its doors.
