ITS VERY RARE THAT CRRASH FIRERESCUE ATTENDS THIS SITUATION BUT EMERGENCY IS EMERGENCY WE SALUTE CRASH FIRE RESCUE FOR THIS SUPPORT OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@wmdtaskforce it is a good idea, tho, thos crash rescues can put water or, even better foam, on the fire immediately upon arrival, wheras a standard truch would have to reel out and connect hoses
we only block one side typically on our vehicle fires and even on wildland incidents here in my area of southern california....alot of people are quick to shut down freeways but our big 8 lane freeways you close that and you're costing millions of dollars per hour
WTF was that shit airport crash trucks should not do that. im a Firefighter in PA and this is bull.. you need traffic control and men to open the hood to get the fire not use a deck gun to do it. i mean if you need foam its ok but like what we did you call them not dispatch them first
so the truck did a 180 on the highway? because that is engine compartment not cargo bay and by throwing that foam all over the highway before blocking traffic can cause an accident.
Yep you're right, fire's in the engine compartment. But throwing open the hood? UPS hoods are plastic/fiberglass. At this point there is no hood to open, it's a puddle of goo on the ground.
I'd have to guess traffic had been stopped before the attack. Look at the vid again. There is a moment just before attack when the camera shifts. If there had been a time code displayed, I'm sure we would have seen it jump ahead.
I am a fireman and I think it stupid what they did . Traffic is still going on that road and with him putting his watercanon directly side ways in to this fire they oncoming traffic cant see nothing and so making a dangerous situation. for them.
It woudt be beter to get in from behind the truck and blocking that second traffic lane. But those guys from the airport will be happy that they got a fire I think.
@persluchtboy so mr fireman...how would you explain that the fire goes from just beyond incipient stage in the engine compartment wth smoke coming out of the engine compartment to fully involved with smoke covering both sides of the freeway in only 8 seconds...hmmm its called editing, they basically fast forwarded the video to the initial attack portion...ur probably a recreationist volunteer
@kaleytyler7 <sure if you're a faggot liberal, PC-thug cocksucker. We have women in the San Francisco FD that call themselves firemen. Go vote for obama you asshole and shut the fuck up.
this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck!!!
Looks like an airport fire truck...or maybe something was in the UPS truck they didn't want to get near idk they did a good job knocking that down and not getting anyone hurt we all gotta remember highways are dangerous places for us.
I am so glad to see this online! I watched it live online via the MNDOT website but this video is better quality. The response was very fast by all units including the Crash Rescue unit who finally got some "real" experience...
Didn't the UPS truck catch fire a second time after it was towed away?

Why open the hood of a UPS package car to extinguish a fire in the cargo area?

were they on airport propety?

It probably doesnt matter, the smoke would more than likely effect the control tower or pilot's visibility. Which is a biggie.
