hi, Im currently attending OTIS and this is not even close to what they teach.. I have no clue why they would post this and teach it in this manner because my teacher teaches in a totally different way.. and yes i agree with everyone else when they say this is a load of BS. thank you and hope this helped you guys think better of OTIS haha
ugh, I hate it how in all these tutorials he uses imperative as if to say 'this is the right way to do art'. Draw and shade how you want people, this is just how this guy does it. =_=
this is a very boring approach to drawing you have sucked the life out of the whole process. i guess someone should suffer though tedious monotonous activity which only produces frustration. i respect your time you put into this video and im sure you are a very nice person with good intentions but this methodology is very harmful to peoples creativity
See, this is another thing I never did, was use a variety of pencils to get different shades, as with a standard No.2 pencil, I gan get the darkest darks, or the lightest lights by making consecutive passes & blending.
whats scarier that this was probably made in all sincerity as a tutorial or that I have actually spent time doing all in classes? oh and w00t first comment.
This is like taking a tire off its rim without the right tools, rendering the process one of tyrany!!!!!

I disagree with everything this guy says
Use smooth paper for better details and smooth finish
Use a pencil sharpener or mechanical pencils
Hold the pencil normally, don't be a show off
Shade in straight lines in direction of the shape of subject
Shading in circles gives a speckily finish, good only occasionally eg. denim
Kneaded erasers leave oily residue, better off cutting a thin wedge from standard eraser and use its flexibility to lighten areas
I can't believe college's teach this shit!

The only thing that sucks about graphite is that they're reflective. Otherwise, they're pretty good pencils.
