Palm Pre mobile hotspot tethering on sprint phone

That free tether version 003 had stopped working a few months ago what happened I love the mobile hotspot better than the other free tether app with tht penguin because the signal sucks

I've been trying to do this for a week! Thanks for the videos. I had the WebOS quick install. I understood that you drag and drop your mentioned files to the webos quick installer but couldn't find the exact files. You need novacom to install also but my windows 7 did it through windows update.

whenver loading the daemon ipk it gives me an error message, I am restoring my phone using web doctor so I can try it again. Maybe installing that first might solve this if not I have no clue what to do. Any ideas? Or pages with detailed instructions?

well i had to use the linux terminal i had installed on the phone because it was a "preloaded app" I did :

mount -o remount,rw /

cd /usr/palm/applications

ipkg remove com.palm.app.mobilehotspot

mount -o remount,ro /

and restarted luna. I installed the patched one you had and it work great! thanks for the info. hope this new info help other people :)

I had the unpatched mobile hotspot installed and i updated my phone to 1.4.5 recently and it broke it. how do i uninstall that one and put this patched one on there?

@shel755 you can use webos quick install to unistall by clicking divice management when plugged in, or u can simply open the launcher click the top left drop down box and tap list apps from the list u can then delete apps.

I installed the mobile hot spot on my pre. It lets other devices like my lap top and itouch to connect to it but it doesn't but no internet connection is given out so the connected devices cannot surf the web. How do you fix this problem?

@tez37 it should connect sometimes it has issues where u can just disconnect and reconect and it should work try it.

@techdudz Yes my phone does get a little warm when tethering but you can close the app while its running and as long as u have the unlimited data plan you wont be charged anything extra

@SlimSh8O update ur phone to webos 1.4.1.1 and open the camera app it will then have the option to use as a camcorder

@countdownclockdown weird they both should install fine if u are using webos 1.4.1.1 maybe reset ur phone and try again if u cant get it to install
