Washington is one of those smaller "undiscovered" artists everyone keeps talking about - she's not pop at all. Bieber is pop. She's indie rock. Pop was intended as an umbrella term for popular music but has evolved into a distinctly different genre, typically featuring lighter music and subject matter delivered in short and simplistic songs.
