didn't see the project 99 comment but for us eqoa players it probably won't cut it. I tried the classic eq and it was a little slower than what we are used to. I will play it soon as i can though. I want to see my roots! How halas looks, neriak and the like. Disapointed in eq2's take on those areas though. Waaaaaaay different! Basicly i want eqoa2, or at least the same layout of Tunaria!

I loved this damn game, the world was HUGE, I used to spend hours using the mage's invsibility and just wandering the map. It really felt like you were out in a dangerous land where everything could kill you. The spawns were also hilariously insane. You'd almost always draw the stupidest collection of fiends and you can't do anything to stop them. The only thing I didn't care for was how long it took to level up.

I played EQOA (on PS2) since about 2 weeks from when it first came out (2003). I miss the original EQOA. That is where all of my nostalgic memories reside, when I was a newb to the game, knowing nothing, and having fun adventuring into lands not explored yet! *sigh* :-)

I miss this version despite that I'm an avid EQ2 player these days. I miss the days when elves were elves (not divided like high elves and wood elves). Of course Neriak wasn't nearly as fancy as the other games interpretations.

the servers won't shut down until it's unprofitable. right now the numbers are pretty stable, and actually show signs of a slight rise.

Well lets be honest here. This game WAS great, but it started to suck a long time ago. CS pretty much became non-existent. And the new devs didnt know shit about the game, so they came up with crappy ass updates. The game went from good and challenging to what I started calling it... "EasyQuest". So all things considered, it might be still ok to play, but not if you have to start over on CLW just to have some other people online. My tank had 1400+ cms long before these xp upgrades. No Thanks.

Oh yeah what was the name of the place in the sky...was it plain of sky, i cant rememeber for crap. laine of desease was cool fighting noxx. Only thing that sucked was xping for hours on end. Necro's leveled the fastest. I remember using my Monk and 3 necros killing those eyes. They'd all be afk and i would non stop pull and loot while red swarming deaths killed em. Game is pretty dead now for those of you guys wondering, CLW is the last remaining server with a good amount of people left in it. I resubbed to see what was up a couple weeks ago, CLW still has Freeport packed to all hell, I checked the other servers and all of them had less then 10 people in freeport. A great game indeed.

This is still my favorite game. The player base has lowered significantly but its still worth giving a try. There are less low level characters to group with so they implemented ways to make the xp gain faster. I have some solo tutorials up on my page, feel free to ask me about the game.
