I bet smith wins the job this next year and gets us to the playoffs. I think he has it in him. The offense will be much more simpler and Gore will have a massive years, yards wise. That massive win vs the seahawks (monday night football) a few years back I thought was going to be the turning point for us to get back to glory but it never happend. This year it will and Alex will get us there. Hve faith in the kid!

I'll take Sean Hill over Smith. Hill is a gamer,- plays smart. Smith has to fix his body/throwing mechanics,- it sucks. Hill played great after taking over roughly mid-season,- with a new head coach. He played way better than I thought he would. Niners should be in the playoffs next year.

alex smith threw jordan like 5 yards then had the presence of mind to step up, roll out to the left, and lob it over the top to gore.... smith has all the skills and tools and i still he think he will end up being our qb of the future

I think he was the reason why Gore had the oppotunity to rush for so many yards. His strong arm and the deep threat he had in A.Bryant kept defenses honest. Notice how Gore hasnt been back to the probowl since A.Smith was his QB. That could have been a factor in why the niners restructured his contract, dratfed Crabtree, signed Marvel Smith and decided to be a run first offense.

I think after seeing shaun hill play, coach Singletary realizes that, you cant go far in this league withouth keeping the defense honest but at the same time you need total ball security. So, i think it is wise to go run first to keep your defense fresh and at the same time limit the mistakes at the qb position, restucture A.Smiths contract so that it seems like a fresh start all over again with a new coach and draft the best playmaker in the draft to give him a reliable target.
