Cynic is one of the best kept secrets! An amazingly original and innovative band. Paul Masvidal's songs are electrifying......manifested melodic and rhythmic perfection!!!
I can't fucking wait for 'Traced in Air!' Cynic is such a great band, and after 15 years, I will get my wish of hearing another album from them. Also, I heard they are considering a U.S. tour in early 2009. Let's hope it's true.
Hey Paul's a chill kinda dude. His music is high energy. The new stuff I've heard kick's some serious ass! I think the new CD's gonna be called Traced in Air. Cynic has some serious fuckin great musicians! I can't wait for the new CD to come out.
I heard they are in the process of recording a new album. "Focus" is a tough act to follow; let's see what they make of it.
Does anyone have a bootleg version of the other two songs they recorded for the new album (I believe they are called "Adam's Murmur" and "Integral Birth") ?
They should do a Portal tour. That would be great. Wish Cynic came to Australia. We have a band here called Alarum. Very similar but alot better in my personal opinion. Fucken tight.
Alarum are fucking great. They're recording a new album (or working on the songs, not sure right now). Eventuality was a flawless album. Cynic should get Alarum to open if they ever tour Australia, that would be sick.
"This music doesn't sound like what I like, therefore, it must be impossible for anyone else to enjoy it, and, even if they do, they're misguided. Here's my unnecessary comment, on this thing, because my life won't be complete unless I make a remark on this thing which I'm not being forced to watch." Well, nice work, fucko. I hope that was everything you dreamed of.
Well, Boar, i agree with you on what you reply, this is all i think about flamers, myself. But in the same time, wouldn't commenting but such a bore if everybody agreed on everything. Without them pointless flamers, we wouldn't witness such funny answers as yours, for example. Plus, in the end, as we say here "opinions are like assholes, everybody got one". What makes a comment worth being published or not anyway ?
I think they are gonna have Tony T. on the new album...my guess is Jason Gobel is probably going to make an appearance as well as Santiago Dobles and maybe Malone too...I wouldnt be surprised at any of it, maybe even a Holdsworth solo in a song...t'would be groovy.
I wish Tony Choy would rejoin the band. His bass work in Cynic's 1991 demo was the most amazing bass lines I have ever heard, Choy was totally meant to play in that band.
I red in a metal megazine that Tony Choy will play in the new album of Pestilence, an european progressive-death metal band. Their music is similar to the Cynic's one.
lol, I agree, the dude doesn't have a nervous bone in his body. He actually seems relaxed to me. For someone who can play like that in front of thousands, I don't think nervousness is one of his traits.
So great

Highly un-original and repetitive, too slow-paced, poor vocals and too mellow & boring.

highly faggish, homo, gay, and douchebag of you to criticize a wonderful song

Yeah, Paul's not nervous or anything, that's just how he is. Very chill.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Man, they need growling vocals on this song. It wouldn't be Cynic without the growls. Paul Masvidal kinda sounds like one of those stoner hippies.

he does seem nervous or bit confused. theres an interview with death called "interview with death tampa" he answers slowly and unfocused.
but its not as bad as song videos of cynic live in 1994. he sounds like a zombie
