No, its from the rear wheels expanding due to the centrifical force from it being spun so fast, when combined with the traction/wheely bar it provides even more traction on launch. The tires are so huge to allow more tire contact to the surface to allow for more traction, the tires are also made from soft rubber to also gain more traction. but the end result is the tires expand because of those three things.

but the torque being applied to the rear wheels also lifts the front end up, thats why they are equipped with the bars in the rear, it allows the torque to be more effectively applied to the surface from forcing the front on the ground. since its on a dyno the front wheels get strapped down to keep the car from moving, there is no use for the bars untill its on the track, then the front will lift a bit while the rear will hunker down
