FF7 WAS great for what it brought to the RPG table, and for pushing the PS engine as far as it had gone at the time, but it's not the best Final Fantasy, not by a long shot. The story is pretty typical, and WAY too much angsting. V and VI are far superior, especially on the anthology discs.

The sphere grid's fine, the storyline's great, mainly because the characters (unlike 7) are actually very likable, (rather than just being bad-ass and angsty for the sake of it,) the battle system's better and more strategic, the music's much better, and the game doesn't randomly stop in its tracks and force you to catch a chocobo in order to progress or navigate across a glacier with a shitty map.

I liked both games too, I just can't tell you how tired I'm getting of people acting like FF7's some type of unbeatable game and that "anyone who disagrees has no idea what they're talking about" .....it's a good game but not great and honestly I think 8, 9, and 10 were all better.

i've played and finished every FF there was made FF7 still is my favorite 'cause of the storyline. FF Tactics is the runner up (dont know if anyone even knows that one) i've always been an FF addict :P

The graphics off this game was AWESOME when it was released, Square have always delivered good graphical games, and sick videos. A game isn't only about graphics, and this game probably has the best storyline a RPG have ever seen.

Why would you critisize the graphics? I doupt you even were playing games when this was released. It's release date was 1997, that's 10 friggin' years ago, the xbox was not even in development stadium at that time. If you critisize Sony for their horrible graphics at this game, I'll laugh at 360. 360 is nothing compared to PS3.

Well, you have to think. How old is Final Fantasy VII? almost eleven years. And the graphics were actually pretty damn good for the time. Just because it isn't, like, OMG X-BOX 360-UBER-DETAIL doesn't make it bad. Just old.

Xbox 360 doesnt have "uber-detail" graphics. There graphics are kind of..... lacking. They promised more, and gave less. As for the first comment, I'm well aware of how old FF7 is, but FF has ALWAYS had good graphics for its time, but I dont like these ones.
