Not bad at all. My favorite characters are Shadow (of course), Larcen, Xavier, Trident, and Rax. If I remember, Jetta was one tough bitch to take down. Of all the characters (except Eternal Champion himself) in the game, she gave me the hardest time.

Shit, Shadow gave me the hardest time. At least for me, I could beat Jetta, although the two were equally as hard.

Having a good enough space established between you and timing attacks is the best strategy against Shadow. Speaking of characters, I thought Trident was a bit overpowered in terms of special attacks. Teleportation, Plasma Bolt = projectile + instant dizzy, Spinning Trident = single most strongest attack in the game + instant dizzy, not to mention all those crazy color moves he had that were very cheap.

The Sega CD version is slightly better IMO. It plays smoother, more characters, more features etc.

I bought this game back when they actually still sold Sega Genesis games at Toys R Us. It was fun, but I never got too into it. This was back in 95 or 96.

This game was one of the hardest games I ever played and yet it was so freakin fun. I wasn't as good with Rax though. I used Blade and Larcen on the Genesis and for the Sega CD I used Dawson. They need to remake the sega CD version. That game was a true jewel.
