  • このエモーショナルで説得力あるヴォーカル味は、御大ダイナ・ワシントンしか出せぬネ!~サミー・カーンとスタインの傑作"IT'S MAGIC"#jazzm

  • 09/09/11 WHERE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY COULD YOU FIND A SINGER WHO HOLDS TRUE TO THE MELODY AND LYRICS EXACTLY THE WAY THEY WERE WRITTEN. DINAH HAS THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL, AND SHE IS PROBABLY SINGING UP ABOVE FOR ALL THE HEAVENLY SPIRITS. GOD REST YOUR SOUL. roselli

  • @Honey1931 Absolutely who exept an angel he's able to sing this way?

  • She is not the queen of the blues. She sings in a bluesy way, but she rarely recorded real "blues" at all. Koko Taylor is the queen of the blues.

  • This is such a fantastic, soulful, sensual, sincere song. Hmmmmmm Dinah sings it so beautifully. <3

  • @DorrisDiaz Totaly agree!

  • My favorite Dinah song. Grab the one you love and glide across the floor and be lifted above the pedestrian and everyday moment in time. Oh yeaaaaah!

  • NO OTHER LIKE HER...WHEN YOU HEAR THE VOICE YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHO IT IS...PERFECTION

  • The tone of her voice was so unique, and she had impeccable diction. A truely great singer's singer!

  • I remember this song just like it was yesterday!

  • I JUST WANT TO SWING IN A HAMMOCK.

  • Well . . . all you drummers out there . . . listen to the tasty brush triplets in the background here . . . I'd bet that the player is Panama Francis . . . same who did the great brushes on "What A Difference A Day Makes" . . . Gary in Arizona . . . courtesy of Vic561.

  • She is Magic!

  • Sensational.

  • This song is Magic !

  • @Jefty49 I agree with You

  • IT'S MAGIC!!!!!!!!

  • Affu...

  • I there is such a thing as a past life, then that explains it. This song comes from one of my past life to remind me that there was lots of happiness and that the world was a much better and decent place, and then Dinah Washington used to sing this to me and everything was as she sings here: It's Magic! What a wonderful singer this lady was. God Bless Her!

  • This beautiful song comes back again!

    It's magic!

    Thank you!

  • Its really MAGIC, her voice, it has a special color and touch, i cant explain which, lo,, but it has, just a feeling, shes GREAT!!, beneath Billkie Holiday!!!

  • Her voice is truly one of the best. I actually think she gives Billie Holiday a good run for her money. But both are legends and were incredibly talented.

  • OK, this is considered more of a pop venture on dinah's part, right? Something that a lot of hard-core jazz people despise?

I love it. It reminds me of something Nat King Cold would have recorded - so smooth and romantic. Only (no offense to Nat King Cole), it doesn't sound cheesy like a lot of Nat King Cole's music does.

  • Yes, Dinah was more of a mainstream blues and jazz singer. Though I find it hard to believe that "hardcore" Jazz and Blues enthusiasts despise anything Dinah has done. She's legendary.

  • amazing

  • It's magic

    Dinah's always magic...!!!

  • chills up my spine! bravo miss washington!

  • Queen of the blues I salute YOU

  • loveee ittt. <3

  • simply beautiful.

  • BEAUTIFUL THANKS

  • When I listen to her voice it takes me back to my youth. Not many atists do that. truly wonderful vocals. Miss you Dinah.

  • it´s magicc

  • Indeed Magic performed by a Magical Lady...!!!

  • I've been trying to figure out whose records gave me so much enjoyment when I was 6 years old. I played them again and again but never learned the name of who it was. I think it was Dinah Washington! Thanks for posting!

  • she has class and she is so sassy wow

  • Dinah W. ROCKS!!! Thank you for posting this! BRILLIANT, just brilliant!

  • Doris Day made it a Hit in the 50s....only bcos of the politics of that time....but Dinah sang it a whole lot better..

  • Doris Day and Dinah Washington both sing this song beautifully but Miss Dinah takes it to another level! Love it!!

  • beatiful melody ,touchy

  • This Dinah Washington song so is very heartfelt to me this first day of spring 2008!!!

"It's Magic",reminds me of my dear sweet Wizard and his magical loving heart and soul !!!

Great appreciation and thanks for posting my most beautiful song TaCleoh!!!

  • Chrisette Michelle's voice faintly resembles Dinah's.

  • Thanks so much for this. I grew up with Dinah Washington songs and find myself awash in nostalgia listening to It's Magic and other songs of hers on You Tube.

    Beautiful!

  • What a wonderful...wonderful voice !!!

  • Oh, I love Dinah!

But I love "it's magic" even more in the version by Abbey Lincoln !

  • Go all the way back to the 50s and it was Doris Day who sang "Its'Magic" and made it a hit..Also it was in one of her movies.

  • she is soooo good i looked for her music for so long i just found it out to day my gradmother had to tell me her name

  • These modern day singers have NOTHING.

    When I listen to this,I feel good,happy.

Lovely lady with a lovely voice.

  • this is trully a thing of beauty thanks

  • Famed for the 'teardrop' in her voice, Dinah's talent is there for all singers of today to see. Peerless, effortless, earthy and intense all at the same time. Dinah had an excellent vocal range that was so easy for her. A natural singer's singer with a gift that can't be taught.

  • @Menexpert Very truthfully and profoundly put...You truly know your stuff. Couldn't have said it better myself. Thank You. Dinah is true THE ONE!

  • I'm french ... I didn't know Dina ! Lot of thanks for this tresor !

  • She was a true diva. Without a doubt the very best. I am 76 yrs young and had the great pleasure of seeing and hearing this great singer/artist in person many times. I'm a jazz and blues fan, and it's great that, that era is made available today w/ high tech. Too, too cool.

  • What a delight it must have been.

  • beautiful. everytime I hear her voice, I wish I was right there with her back in those days.

  • She was magic

  • wicked tune... they dont make them like that any more.. eat your heart out britney spears thats how you sing a song....

  • una de sus mas bellas canciones

  • One billion thanks
