This is incredibly difficult if you're playing a melee character. Exploring the dungeons gets really, really scary in early levels.
Only thing I didn't really like in this was the unability to open high level locks, for example my char had a security of 66, but I couldn't even try to open level 100 locks. Also I hated that if an enemy were somewhere in the same area (even though it wasn't a threat), you coulnd't pick locks or repair stuff.
@tomsguld he got a job at Obsidian and has so far worked on Fallout: Las Vegas. I think a modder would prefer to actually get money for what he loves doing instead of a medal :D

I've got this and I totally LOVE it. Seriously makes you think twice about travelling. I wanted to enter a cave, then a spriggan came out of nowhere, and I HAD to fight it. at level 1! don't ask me how, I survived it. then, I entered the cave, noticed it was all easy goblins, kept going and then BOOM! I got one-shotted by the warlord!
I'm level 3, looted some Forts, Ayleid ruins and caves and I have to say the AI of the creatures is more ridiculous than vanilla OB. Skeleton Archers tend to turn around and shoot at walls instead of hitting you. I've met some new creatures and dungeons contain more chests. I'll have to wait for the OOO quests to really determine gameplay changes.

And what;s worse for me, lore-breaking - badly (VERY) written books, some pretty ugly armor sets and wtf is with the slave traders in Cyrodiil?! Slave trading is FORBIDDEN, so who are they going to trade those slaves to?! I understand that they are trying to make the game like Morrowind, but this is simply too far.
@Usumgallu Mate, think about it real hard. Who is going to buy a slave and how is this somebody going to cover up the fact that he has a slave? Slavery is a part of Morrowind's culture and has absolutely no place in Cyrodiil.
@HalfLifeHalfDead Well, they operate in the south earstern Cyrodiil, near the borders of of Black Marsh and Morrowind. They can just capture the slaves in Cyrodiil, but sell them in the neighbouring provinces.
@Usumgallu That WOULD make sense (didn't play long with this mod on), but it still feels wrong to me. Who from Morrowind and in their right mind would want to buy slaves from Cyrodiil?! They can buy them back home AND, if the laws of economics apply, at a lower price. Oh, and the Black Marshes are the homeland of the Argonians. And which race is most commonly used for slaves? You know it.
you can use jtag to get the mod on xbox but us PS3 users(well,me) don't mod and it makes us happy to not mess up the game,but some updates/PSN Addon like this would be nice...(I have Oblivion on PC not PS3)
iv installed OOO but when i walk around nothing really is changed. except a few guys are in armour other than clothes, i installed the mod prfectly by running the exe installation not the OBMM way, is there something wrong with my mod?
With Skyrim announced, I am finally going to install this. I bought a second copy of oblivion for cheap on steam a few months ago with plans to mod it and play again, but never did. This looks awesome can't wait. Sadly I screwed something up when installing some other mods and am re-installing the game. On topic: OOO is a great overhaul, brings a lot more variety to the game (also makes it a bit longer and harder), also a lot more realism than other mods usually do. I can only recommend it
This mod makes the game realistically hard ... Like in Morrowind, you would always be retreating from dungeons or enemies because you weren't strong enough, plain and simple. Then, after you gain a few levels, it feels great to go back to the same dungeon and wipe the floor with the same enemies - you can tell you've become more powerful. Instead if everything changing around you, as if you were the centerpiece. Using this mod, I've died a lot, but it's worth it.
@SHWAGGeb I know It's Requiem for a Dream, but the fact that that music is in 80% of Youtube videos makes it impossible to watch the movie or listen to the song again...

@IAMMIKE456 Well, how did you install it, first off. Did you use the self installer or the OMOD version? Also, if you cant get Oblivion to start up, just delete all of the related OOO files and reinstall the game. Any other mods you have won't be deleted when you do this either.
Anybody know the name/loc of the ayleid ruin that requires you to put on the full set of Dread armor? I found a fourm where somebody said there's a sword with infinate charge, but he forgot where it was and the name of the ruin.
No one should play Oblivion without this mod. It's a whole new experience. Completely. Just mind blowing. It's a lot harder too and much more satisfying. I actually have to run away from enemies!
I saw that someone told that you can no longer finnish main quest at level 1. A small correction even in the Oblivion with no mods you can't do that, because you need to give a deadric artifact to Martin and you can get it on level 2 actually not level 1 =)
WRONG! you have to be level 6+ to get the Daedric star artifact from the shrine!...im pretty sure that you could just use a console command on oblivion for PC tho ^^

@FunkySamek Deadly reflex specifically targets pcs' and npcs' fighting style. OOO does not so there should be no clashing. They should be safe together.
I do have a gaming PC, but I want to play this though again on my new laptop - It hasn't arrived yet, but I know it will play standard oblivion. (512 dedicated graphics, 2.0 GHz dual core 3M, 4gb RAM) - does this put much more strain on a PC? I've only ever played vanilla oblivion before and the levelling system annoys me xD I want more freedom to practice the skills i want to without worrying about a x5 multiple. Does this help that?
The enemies are a lot stronger that in a normal game (at least I get that feeling( because it's not leveled and when you're unlucky you run right into a Frost Minotaur or something.
Even as assassin type, you can have Endurance as beginning stat.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend getting this mod if you've already played through vanilla Oblivion a bit. (you should play it vanilla first, if you like it the way it is then it's easier

I'd tried installing this and failed miserably,(looks great though) so I gave up, but now I cant even start the game! it doesnt even get to the bethesda logo. if anyone could help me I'd be grateful

@IAMMIKE456 Well, how did you install it, first off. Did you use the self installer or the OMOD version? Also, if you cant get Oblivion to start up, just delete all of the related OOO files and reinstall the game. Any other mods you have won't be deleted when you do this either.

you probably got some mods clashing with each other. try to use oblivion mod manager and script extender, and even BOSS.
then load an ESM first and then the ESPS.

Anybody know the name/loc of the ayleid ruin that requires you to put on the full set of Dread armor? I found a fourm where somebody said there's a sword with infinate charge, but he forgot where it was and the name of the ruin.

No one should play Oblivion without this mod. It's a whole new experience. Completely. Just mind blowing. It's a lot harder too and much more satisfying. I actually have to run away from enemies!

I guess you use a modded race. Search for: custom race fix on tesnexus. That 'll fix it.

I saw that someone told that you can no longer finnish main quest at level 1. A small correction even in the Oblivion with no mods you can't do that, because you need to give a deadric artifact to Martin and you can get it on level 2 actually not level 1 =)

WRONG! you have to be level 6+ to get the Daedric star artifact from the shrine!...im pretty sure that you could just use a console command on oblivion for PC tho ^^

ahh i see, theres a .esp that comes with OOO that says respawn_year, i had that enabled, it makes it take a year ingame for dungeons to respawn.

Can anyone help me? it don't works on my oblivion. i use the newst patch, and i installed it correctly, but if i want to play with, there no textures. i mean, everytime there should be a new armor, creature or whatever, there is this big '' ? '' in a yellow square... can anyone tell me what i make wrong? i also tried different download surces, but it never worked.... or has it to do anything with the language of the game???

The exclamation mark indicates you forgot to install a mesh. Did you use the .exe installer? Or an .omod?

@FunkySamek Deadly reflex specifically targets pcs' and npcs' fighting style. OOO does not so there should be no clashing. They should be safe together.

I do have a gaming PC, but I want to play this though again on my new laptop - It hasn't arrived yet, but I know it will play standard oblivion. (512 dedicated graphics, 2.0 GHz dual core 3M, 4gb RAM) - does this put much more strain on a PC? I've only ever played vanilla oblivion before and the levelling system annoys me xD I want more freedom to practice the skills i want to without worrying about a x5 multiple. Does this help that?

The enemies are a lot stronger that in a normal game (at least I get that feeling( because it's not leveled and when you're unlucky you run right into a Frost Minotaur or something.
Even as assassin type, you can have Endurance as beginning stat.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend getting this mod if you've already played through vanilla Oblivion a bit. (you should play it vanilla first, if you like it the way it is then it's easier
