  • yo bucky you the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lol, most people watching these are in college or university, and I understand Python easily

    (I'm in grade six)

  • @SuprMrDudeGuy you are lucky you got started early, if i was you i would dedicate all my spare time to programming and to developing a personal project, that way by the age of 18 you might be a millionaire if you develope the right idea and work with other people who also have the knowledge, ambition and interest to develope something great

  • @suicidebombadil great lecture, proffessor. lol

  • @AnnaMicrosoft i wish when i was his age an old unknown guy from internet would have told me that, if that would have happen maybe i would not be flipping burgers for a living now

  • @suicidebombadil you have no one to blame other then yourself

    but it's not too late to do something with ur life..

  • @AnnaMicrosoft true, but if you ever go to mcdonalds make sure im not the one cooking cause i will spit on your burgers biaaaaatch!

  • I've learned more about python from watching your tutorials in the last 30 minutes than from my college professor for the past 5 weeks. Thanks for the clear and easy to understand tutorials.

  • @PsychoBoyJack11 same here bro

  • Backticks don't seem to be working in Python 3.

  • num = `12` also converts the number to a string

  • nice biff dude

  • BACK TITS!

  • back tits hehe

  • Here's another way to join strings and integers:

    num = 18

    name = 'Bucky is %d' % (num)

    print name

    Bucky is 18

    -Try it :).

    % = "String formatting operator." It uses a, "String w/ formatting characters," + the data to be formatted, separated by the %. Since the letter 'd' is the, "Formatting characters for integers' we use "%d" in order to insert a integer into a string.

    Hope I explained it alright, gl :)

  • OMG MOVE YOUR CUROSRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • back tits

  • You would have to write at least 5 lines in java to get the same output, i dont know if that is good or bad

  • here's a fun game: go from tutorial 1 to this one and watch the views decrease (dramatically)!! lol and it's only tutorial 7

  • Looks like back ticks doesnt work for 3.2

  • why can people hate him! He's AMAZING at explaining this! He dumb's it down without making us feel dumb!

  • numbers + letters = Algebra...duh

  • >>> print ("bucky is" +num)

    You need to bracket everything in python 3.0+

    Hope it helps :)

  • In Python 3, the conversion isn't necessary; integers can be used with strings in 3.x. num = 18 num + 15 33 Integers working correctly. Now: print("Matt will be", num, "in two months.") Matt will be 18 in two months. Converting to make sure they're actually integers: num = int(num) print("Matt will be", num, "in 2 months.") Matt will be 18 in 2 months.
  • @SomeAnonymousDude I forgot Youtube comments don't space correctly. Sorry about that jumbled mess.

  • All I heard was backtits then something about his mom. What are you doing in your freetime?!?

  • thanx mate learn alt man

  • backticks don't work in python 3

  • @MEhagar why use python 3?

  • >>> num2 - num

    14

    >>> print "ewww"

    ewww

  • OMG how do you write these "bactics"? I cannot find them on the keyboard.

  • 2:36 did he just say back tits? lolololololololololol

  • hey man,just wanted to say that before your vids I knew nothing about programming or python,Im taking my OO programming class in about 2 months and youve explained some of this material for me and made it a much easier transition,awesome series!

  • Why Dont You Just Go Like This:

    num = 18

    print "Bucky Is ", num

    Not This

    num = str(18)

    print "Bucky Is " + num

    ??

  • @iyanzakai He is teaching strings, not teaching you how to put "Bucky is 18".

  • Back Tits

    Hell Yah Baby

  • Back Tits

  • num = 18

    print "bucky is", num

  • I figured out on my own that you can do something like:

    me+" is "+ str(age)

    So you don't have to make the int a string if your going to just print it once.

  • what about simply doing num = "18"?

  • @videodaniel8945 It works, I tried

  • "My mom is ", 32

    My mom is ", age

  • why dont you just put in "bucky is 18" thats what i did and it worked

  • @thbeserk because not everyone is 18...

    if you say

    x=raw_input("Your name is: ")

    y=raw_input("Your age is: ")

    print"Your name is"+ x

    print"Your age is"+ y

    You're not gonna know that that person is 18 or whatever.

  • Bucky, do you have a bitcoin address? I would like to send some donations...

  • Hey Guys ! ! ! You hate Bucky for what reason !

    He is just trying to help begginers like me and all who like the videos . So any one og you haters , FUCK YOUR SELF , AND GET A LIFE !

  • print(("my mom is "),num2)

    for 3.2

  • Bat-Tits!

  • Mine doesn't work.. im using 3.2. I do print ("Peter is"), num and it gives me

    Peter is  (None, '18')

  • "Convert crap to strings" - Bucky Roberts

  • Made a simple program where first it will asks what your moms age is. Then whatever you enter it will say "Your mom is.(the number you entered)"

  • @EpilepticElbow 3.1 has a different syntax from any python version 2.x.x

  • Backtits?

  • crap ---> strings

  • I recommend taking every first word he entered in each line and doing help(word)

    This gives alot more information and all the ways that you can use that word. At least t would give you a starting point to be creative.

  • num1 = 15

    print "num1" + `num1`

    num115

  • print "\"Hey now\""

  • BACTITS LOL

  • What? No "Bam!" comments?

    OK then:

    Once you enter a string, Bam!

  • Bucky's mom gave birth to bucky at 14?!?

  • I wanna convert crap into strings.

  • or you would type 'Bucky is", num does the same but also handles integers

  • @phroggyy print ('bucky is', num)

  • Remember: Bucky is always right....even when you think he's not!!

    Using Python 2.7 here are some print statements that emphasize what Bucky states. (The \n sequence is the newline char. and it is not the comma. The comma is used to separate parameters).

    age = 32

    print "\n\nHello, Bucky is", age, " years old"

    print "\n\nHello, Bucky is " + repr(age) + " years old"

    print "\n\nHello, Bucky is " + str(age) + " years old"

    age2 = str(age)

    print "\n\nHello, Bucky is " + age2 + " years old"

  • print "buck is 18"

    that works even better

    (fyi im not dumb so dont say but blah blah blah...)

  • @basketballdude138 I see what you mean :P I think the same way through most of these examples, but I'm sure you know how this could be applied to something else when you write a program xD

  • @CaptainLulzify yah i know i do alot of coding in different languages so i can see it

  • you're 18 and your mom is only 32?

  • @gioravered hes 24

  • Can someone please help me?

    x = Jason

    Why cant I go,

    print "so your name is x?"

    it doesn't come up with "so your name is jason?"

    HELP PLEASE

  • @DarkCytomation hi, since you want to print a string, you should save it in double quotes to tell the program that it is a string.

    the correct program is :

    x = "Jason"

    print "so your name is ", x , " ? "

    enjoy..

  • @rjkale1 Thanks , is there a way to say "your name is x , correct?" because if I brake the code and make it

    print ("Your name is " + x ",correct?") , my program doesn't run correctly.

  • @DarkCytomation What you're doing is telling Python to add x, which equals Jason, when it doesn't work like that. What you want to do is say:

    x = "Jason"

    print ("Your name is",x,", is that correct?")

    Then, it will output:

    >>>

    Your name is Jason , is that correct?

    >>>

  • @SelcouthZach thanks , it works .

  • back tits

  • Back tits............hahaha

  • Your mom was 14 when she gave birth... i sincerely hope you don't have an older sibling.

  • bucky is awesome

    :)

    nice tutorials

  • your mom is 32 ?? xD haha

  • 32 - 18 =....  :0

  • Back tits :)

  • Just started learning Python after using C++ for years and type casting seems to be more implicit, but much easier.

  • Rather than doing str(18) on the variable, use it when you're printing.

    print "bucky is" + str(num)

  • At 2:30 I just put num = "18"

  • backtits?

  • num = 18

    print ('Bucky is %s' % num)

  • The best parts of these tutorials are when Buckys like "hold on...let me gather my thoughts" lol

  • Convert crap to strings. That's how you get a Sh*tty program. Haha.

  • backtits

  • back tits?

    lol

  • Wait 32-18 = 14 :O

  • In Python 3.2, you have to put parentheses () around the text and quotes after print, unlike in this version where it's just the quotes.

  • print "my mom is ", num2

    is better but since your teaching strings i guess it makes since LOL

  • Thank you for creating these tutorials for those of us who are utterly clueless about computer 'speak'. I am following along and haven't felt the need to give up and throw myself off the nearest tall building! A very refreshing and generous way of teaching.

  • I want some back tits.....lol jk

  • you know that the ages he writes might be examples?

  • num=18

    print "your",num

    works as well in 2.7.1

  • it is 2011 these days the back ticks are just fine !

  • welcome back to another episode of learn more about bucky,

    on last weeks episode we learned his full name stay tuned this week to find out his age!

  • black tits o_o

  • ok can someone tell me what's this for ? just typing for fun ?

  • wtf is back tits???

  • 2:06 "That's not math, that's not English, that's not nothing"

  • Bubble that was 2 years ago he is 20 and his moms 34

  • You're 18, and your mom is 32? Oh, deary me...

  • i think yuor mom is going to dislike this video,kid...

  • sooooo... he is 18 and his mom is 32?

    that makes a lot of sense :))

  • yout can use a comma like this

    print "jajdljlkajd" , num

  • Show me your back tits!!!

  • The first tutorial has the most views and the views slowly go down on the next tutorial. That makes me a saaaad panda....

    (Reference from south park.)

  • @NIN1024 SOUTH PARK FTW

  • PLEASE HELP

    I have Python 3.0 installed and it's teling me

    >>> print "Hi Bucky"

    Invalid Syntax

    Is the new version different here?

  • @snipaelite247 do print ("hello")

  • num = 18

    print ("bucky is ") ,num

    That works better :))

  • @pavo11111

    True, true!

  • @pavo11111 try print("bucky is",num)

  • @pavo11111

    You can also do this: print"bucky is",num

    even easier :)

  • @pavo11111 Dude this doesn't convert the value stored in "num" to string.Rather it just shows the value in "num" in a new line.The comma operator is used for new line.

  • con-cat-an-ate..

    wtf.

  • made us all curious with the repr :D

  • Comment removed

  • back titts Ô_ô i think i can like that 3:46

  • Hahaaha bucky was a teenage pregnancy baby

  • Hahaaha bucky was a teenage pregnancy baby

  • 7 people can't add numbers to letters

  • Now Alright THis Says. SO MUCH. GOD. Stop repeating that.

  • Bucky, you're jusy a seviour :)

    Thank you again

  • "Back tits." Now that's I don't wanna see.

  • I really don't see the necessity in adding the numbers to the string when you can just include the number into the string.

  • @taccun If you watched one of the previous tutorials, what if the numbers are from input, and you do not know them?

  • y cant u just write "my mom is 32" u might as well just write "my mom" + num1 + num2 + num3

  • But you can also write

    num = "18"

    and then

    print "Bucky is " + num

    it is "Bucky is 18"

  • @Zerstoererh you're right it works in 2.7.1

  • for python 3.1.3 newest version not counting the beta but its exactly: num = 18

    print('bucky is', num)

  • 2:06

    it's algebra.

  • print "my mom is : " + str(num2)

  • just sayin that of your mom was 32 and your 18 then she was 14 when you were born

  • Back tits also work,no need of repr shit.

  • Wouldn't it be easier to just make it like num = "18" xD

  • Wouldn't it be easier to just make it like num = "18" xD

  • 'More on strings. NOT moron strings' haha love this guy

  • His mom was 14 when she had him :0. Meaning she was around 13 when he was conceived...

  • FFS guys just uninstall 3.1 and install 2.7 ALL YOUR PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED!!!

  • @D4gI3 OMG YES! YES YES YES! I actually installed 2.7.1 the first time i did this so, wala-no problems!

  • @D4gI3 Or you just find the solution in 3.X, as far as i've got it, finding solution is a part of programming ^^

  • @Tott3LoL umm not if your trying to learn programming dumb ass...

    your saying you are going to learn programming from him when all the code he tries to teach you gives you syntax errors? Your telling me someone new to this language will understand a way how to get around this?

    GTFO

  • @D4gI3 is name calling really necessary?

  • @sailornaruto39 lol sorry sort of had a bad day when I posted that XD

    Your right about getting around stuff, but its also good to remember that newer doesn't necessarily mean better (Windows XP/Windows Vista.) Especially when someones trying to follow along with the video.

  • @D4gI3 :)

  • @D4gI3 I tought solving problems was a part of programming, guess i got it wrong then :( I'm totaly new, started the day i wrote that and found a way around so i wounder whos a dumb ass ;o

  • @Tott3LoL you say that now lol

  • Wow, you're an Amazing Tutor. Even me, I understood this.

  • i also tried num="18" and it worked

  • 1.You dont have to do num + x.

    You can do num+x.

    2.You dont have to do num = str(18)

    You can do num = "18"

    I'm not acting smart, I just figured 1 was faster on my own.

    I also figured 2 from watching the video. I figured out what he was getting to before he said it and went "oooohhh I get it" and typed num="18" and I got it right. But then he started typing str(18) and I was like WTF? But it is the same, just "18" is faster. Just a tip. I wouldn't have figured this without this dude.

  • Print " Your mom has Back TITS"

  • is there any way to see the functions? i saw a list that came up when you typed in math. in a previous tutorial

  • 2.7s fine for back ticks

  • convert crap in to string using python ahahahahah that's new xDDDD

  • buky is 18 mum is 32 alright :D

  • @KilianMorrison I was a bit disturbed by that too , meaning either she was an early bloomer or Bucky was adopted , i kinda hope it was the second one because 32-18- .75= pedobear seal of approval.

  • @aronedu omg she would had been 13~14 D:

  • round tits, small tits, flat tits, big tits, uneven tits, and now back tits WOW dyin to see them LOL

  • for those who don't have to write this in new version of python you would write it like this:

    >>>> print ("Bucky is" + num)

    num has to be in () too

  • thanks for everything I was lost until I found this I am broke now but I will definately buy your vids when money loosens up

  • What's wrong with using;

    print "Bucky is ", num ?

  • dude you have awesome tutorials i learned so much from them

  • how r u sopost 2 rember this?
