I live in duffield, there's no end of deaths on that road, usually where the the silver pick up was over taken. There's a bout 4 this year so far, It's usually bikes coming form the other way not doing the 40mph limit. Thye've dropped the limit to 50mph now and are playing with the idea of ghatso's on that road. Derbybiker wasn't driving dangerous at all, I've done that route in 7.5 mins in a civic in my younger wreckless days, although there's barely any traffic at night.
Thanks for the ride. I am in my seventies and now live a long way from Derbyshire. I grew uo at Hazelwood and went to school at Wirksworth so I remember that road well. I regularly cycled it, and also remember riding on the back of my brothers' BSA motor bike, just like your video.
This seems safe. The road doesn't have many accidents at all, i drive it everyday and never seen one. In fact i do that road in 8 mins easy, without really going for it
so many people that moan!! i'm not a biker but my brother is so i know a little about it and i saw nothing wrong with that ride! nothing dangerous safe overtaking and good obs so kool vid :) keep it up...
No wonder theres so many smashes between Duffield and Wirksworth, youll end up with a bunch of flowers on the verge riding like that, theres to much cow crap, oil and to many concealed entrances, somebody got killed a couple of months ago overtaking where you over took the silver pick up.
I take it you mean at the start in the 40mph zone. You'll find I was actually doing 40 until the pickup pulled out and then followed it at a safe distance at 30mph. Where you say I overtook it was where it decided to brake and turn left without indicating. As the road ahead was clear and there was nothing at either junction it was safer to move right a little to pass rather than brake.
I take this road on my fizzy most days I go to ecclesbourne school in duffield!!

Great footage - like all your films they are great. Can you film Wirksworth to Cromford?
I live in Scotland but am from Cromford/Wirksworth - so know all these roads.
Thanks,
Tom
