I bought the same plane from a friend that he never flew. I flew the plane about 4 times and on the last flight the rudder and elevator servo broke. the plane flew prity stright and in to the ground. when I investigated i found the wires that go from the sercut board to the motor inside the servos came loose. now after 2 weeks of rebuilding the plane I got rid of the shitty servos and went with futaba servos.also I installed a 60 moter.should fly fast .
is it possible to get this plane with out the Dx6i??? I love this plane, and I am beginner / moderate. I have the parkzone T-28 and really enjoy that, but i see this plane and start to water at the mouth!!!!
I have one of these, and have over 400 flights on it so far. It's the workhorse of all the planes I have. When the wind is blowing 25 mph, this is the one I fly without hesitation. For around $400 you get the plane, ten model memory transmitter, and everything you need is there. Flies inverted great, rolls awesome, and loops are easy. Light as a feather, and the Evolution motor cannot be beat. Fly it right out of the box with no "break in" period!
the most pretty period is between 0:31 and 0:41, with the wings of little rolling by adjusting the aileron, and very thumb-up at 0:36, the sharp close-up of the fuselage by the cameraman, i appreciate it !!
i recently switched to 11x6 as well and loving it accept the fact that i had to dead stick it . I think i may have put the wrong plug back in it though i borrowed the plug while testing another engine..Any suggestions for best replacement plugs easily avaiable?
in this video you rolled with the droops on and didnt roll with them,, haha.. thats the only difference i noticed at all when removing them is it rolls much faster, other than that i couldnt tell the difference.
Great plane IMO, have had it for about 1 year and no problems. Worked great with all the added gear to tame it down for a newbie. I've been very impressed with the Evo .46 engine (has always cranked right up and ran great w/o any problems. I have added 11x6 prop, removed flywheel from engine and replaced with normal back plate, all other trainer stuff removed gradually as this was my 2nd plane. All in all it's been great! At least my experience with it has... and that engine is solid.
Nice Trainer! Bought one and before my first flight, praticed at Real Flight for almost a month. On my first weeekend in a club, did every basic things: take off, smooth 180 and landing. A great first plane. The only change: replaced original 10x5 for a 11x6. Perfect.
not for a beginner - very unforgiving w/ everything on, and when you take them off its not that great of a warbird, not horrible at either though, but does req rudder for takeoffs. price is nice with radio
i have this airplane. The manual says to put the throws on the outside hole. I'm a beginner, should I have a lot of control surface movement or the least?
if i were u i would get the most movment out of ur control surcaces and just set ur dual rates to 50% on 12&4 channel. Then just leave ur dual rates on and when u get in a sticky situation just flick the switch and rocket out of there!
obviously the least, but too litle and you may have undercontrol of airplane, so maybe put into second hole from last. and test the surfaces to see you ahve at least a half a centimeter for the ailerons, about a cm for rudder and elevator.
i bought this plane, built it fueled it, and then flew it for about a week. after a couple flights the engine started to quit in mid air. this is a flaw with the evolution engine installed in it from the factory. you will have two options. do what i did and replace the engine with an OS .46AX, or you can replace the front bearing in the eingine which is causing the failures

@phatgonk Most tail draggers require rudder on take off, due to the torque of the engine.

You should have the least amount of control surface movement.

what happens when you need to turn real sharp to get out of something and you can't?
