Everywhere I've looked online slams this movie for being a cheesey remake. Speaking as someone who never bothered to see the original Dirty Dancing, I loved this! People should really stop seeing it as a remake and judge the movie off it's own merits.

I admit it's not Ramola Garai's best acting :/ but the dancing makes it worth it.

Swayze is in it, not a lot, but he is definitely in it... but more as a friendly dance/life mentor to Katie (Garei) than a main character - it's only a 'sequel' in spirit as technically the events occur before the original film so he can't resume the same character - but he does feature in it - no idea why they didn't put him the the trailer though!

The only thing it has in common with the original Dirty Dancing is that it is a story about dance bringing 2 people together, as well as the fact that Patrick Swayze has a small cameo role. They also probably called it Dirty Dancing 2 in order to get more media attention.
