My cousin played with Buddy sometime around 1986-88 and when they played in SF and Marin I went to both shows. Buddy could hit the skins like nobody but I was blown away at how well he played the guitar. At both shows he went into a 20 min jam on the electric guitar . It was a little long but bottom line is he could shred! What a great voice too
GREAT TRIBUTE TO A MUSICAL GIANT! If more people could really know how great a musician Buddy Miles was. Very few - and I mean only a handful - could play the drums with his mindless timing. It was a second nature. And he could do it while singing you a song. UNCANNY! Others could play and sing. But no one could do both quite as well. Requiscat en Pace.
Ahhhhhh Blqlite.... thank you so much. Just lost touch & didn't know Buddy went into "the Purple Haze" (smile). He used to come to my house to get out of the spotlight for a minute & get some of my Mama's home cooked meals and in the process, inspired my baby brother to become a phenominal percussionist. A sweet, sweet guy & a lot of fun too... You're loving & generous to produce this in his memory, your effort does not go lightly. love reverdia, poet - L.A.
Buddy, oh... what angels voice. Thank you for leaving us with your grace. To sit in front of him and get blown over by that voice is something i will never forget, let alone the power he had in his drumming. What a friendly powerful force this brother remains..
Yes Buddy Miles was just as much the singer and more . Buddy Miles had one of the best voices suited to Soul & Rock. I loved that song "Look Into My Eyes" on the Electric Flag CD as well as his version of "Sunny" on the Flag's "American Music Band"
RIP Buddy, your voice and spirit are immortal. Say hi to Jimi for us ...
