ok people ive only just seen this vid and there is a name for all your bmw minis over here in australia.. We call them BINI'S simply remove the m change it with the bmw B and bobs you aunty.
i myself drive a 69 mini k panelvan so i dont really see any similarities between old and new.

Admittadly, they are very good cars, but they should have been called something else, as there is nothing resembling the original mini on them, well nothing other then the badge, but even thats been 'modernised', and apparantly made better :s
They are real BMW Minis. They have done a good job of capturing the spirit of the original Mini. We have a lot more fun than your average car owner. Everything changes. Look at how big other cars have gotten, such as BMW 3 Series or Nissan 350z. As far as using the name it is called brand equity, the value of a well known name. BMW bought the name for a reason.
