  • great stuff!

  • as for being 'weird' check the lyrics :

"some say i'm crazy, and some say i'm dumb, but it doesnt mean that they know where i'm coming from"

puts that one to bed really innit ;)

  • From the scant evidence I can find this video appears to be a live show recorded at Onkel Pö's Carnegie Hall in Hamburg, W. Germany on October 29 or 30 1976. Audio from these two days of recordings was apparently released in the form of two LPs from Aves, "The Piano Prince Of New Orleans," and "Blues and Ragtime From New Orleans."

  • Geniuses of all disciplines make the seemingly impossible look incredibly effortless and easy. Booker did that. What a treasure!

  • "Life" - JB III

    check it out.

grt post and wierd is what keeps it real.

    best wishes

  • James Booker was not weird, he was a genius, I guess if you are talking about his eminence as a unique, world class artist, then yeah, he was weird.

  • The incomparable James Booker. Does anybody know where that man truly came fro-wo-wom? I'm grateful to have been a young man living in New Orleans to hear him. Truly rarified air that man.

  • Thanks for the great video, Geepereet. Do you know when this clip was recorded?

  • Unfortunately, it takes a lot of hurt and pain to write and sing this song....but it is so true.

  • Pretty weird?? The Black Mozart was a stone cold genius!! A wild man who lived the life and was possibly the last of the true Big Easy 88 players Thanks for posting.

  • JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE!, THIS CAT KILLS!

  • Listening to JB makes me alternate between wanting to quit music forever, and wanting to do nothing but play piano. The man's utterly untouchable.

  • Booker was beyond words. Truly and absolutely.

  • Legendary Man -Genius Of New Orleans Music.

  • It's so nice to see new Booker's appearances coming in. He's obviously not in great shape, but he is saying so much with his music. Thanks for posting !

  • legendary...unbelievable great musician

  • This is just fantastic- thanks SO much for this!

  • where did you get this in such hq? I 've had it on low res vhs for years.. nice job.. !

  • It's from a VHS-tape too, perhaps better quality from the original, no longplay usage maybe, perhaps a better broadcasting situation. I used nero to edit and a, now broken, lite-on dvd-recorder to digitize from tape, kind regards, Aart
