Yes, I'm a fanboy, but besides the content behind the trailer, there is a perfect marriage of music, rhythm and silent images! It made me cry (true story)! It portraits perfectly the pessimistic and moral brink that the Watchmen is all about. The trailer is better than the whole movie itself!!

say what you guys want, i think staying true to the comic, even if it was shot for shot, line for line, was an intelligent move. i do understand that it would be interesting to see how some people interpret the story, but most of the time, these turn out to be flops. look at dragonball, prince of persia, mortal kombat, the last airbender, and most other comic/game/remake movies.

the director may not be that creative, or not enough to create his own cinematic take on the original, but he wanted to respect the fans of the original. that is what, i think makes him a great director; he respects the originals.

@pauliepaul999 Have you read the novel? The director ripped it off Shot-For-Shot, Line-For-Line. He did absolutely nothing new or creative. And what he COULD control (acting, and such) he bombed (not all the actors were bad, but there were some terrible ones). Zack Snyder had absolutely 0 imagination when making this film.

What he did here was take everything he could from the original, well the plot anyway, and brought to life. Yeah most of the shots were copied from the novel, but that was what he was trying to do. @b1acksa1nt Shots AND dialogue. It's the graphic novel thrown on the screen. But he DID screw up on key things, you can never be as good as the novel. So basically, most people are just going to see the movie than read the book, because " Why Read? It's on the screen for only 2.5 hours"\

I'd much rather have a director that kept the plot, but brought his own interperetation to the story. Well, I'd prefer if they didn't touch Alan Moore's work. But if you have to, use your own visual style.

He steals not only shot styles and gimmicks from other directors, but he also uses slo-mo (most notably in comic book films) to mimic the frame of the comic book panel that he's trying to rip-off, usually to earn brownie points with dumbass fans. I don't envy his life, as a film-maker, I hope I'm never integrated into hollywood, I'd hate my to have my work sensationalized.

And the movie is beautifully shot and Directed, with amazing, real characters but I guessing you need a car chase and a simple plot so as to not hurt your small mind.

I don't know it but I could download and analyze it but that's totally unnecessary because it's sooo obvious that it can't be TRUE HD. True uncompressed HD comes at 1.3 GIGAbit /s which is impossible to achieve on the Internet nowadays. Ok, even Blue Ray is compressed but 36 Mbit/s is still WAY beyond what ANY internet provider can deliver. "The End Is The Beginning Is The End" is another variant of this song which was used for the soundtrack of Batman & Robin.
