That lil Civic has a nice launch. But honestly, if you have to ADD turbo just to stay in the game, shoulda just modified a more qualified car to begin with. I don't see how or why people waste their money into Honda Civics beyond what they were never really intended for. You slap a turbo on there and still say Honda Power, but they never came with turbo, so you pretty much just made your own thing.

@24okay dude do your research the civic was originally made for touring class races the great engine platform made it very easy to upgrade and thus the civic skyrocketed to be top five cars to be modified and raced (legally) in all of the world not to mention u can get more WHP and higher power to weight ratios to most if not all cars whilst still keeping a fricken good fuel economy comparing to cars of equal WHP

@24okay yes i agree with you but thats just class differences. and yes adding boost makes a big difference in the drag scene but they do hold there own in a touring type race they have astounding power to weight and really tall fifth gears allowing my stock civic reach 190 km/h or about 120 miles the biggest thing u have to realize is they are only spending a fraction of the cost as you would with your gto or whatever and getting the same track times (slighty modded gto of course not full out)

Check out what it would cost me for a Gen 3 3sgte for Toyota SW20 MR2 in the USA, and compare that to a Type R engine. Then race the two cars together and see who puts down the better time, drag or circuit. Not just because I have two Toyota MR2 Turbos, but just saying. Then again, they are two types of vehicles. Hondas are good for Canyons, I give them that, but even forced induction to a degree helps
@24okay ok i give you that to buy an engine. but i mean to do up my 1.6 from bottom to top suspension interior tranny engine with turbo kit nitrous internals etc is only going to run 20,000 21000 if u include the cost to buy it thats less than most new vehicles (also USA cost) granted stock the mr2 would school a civic but lets say stock internals with both, a civic is able to run much higher psi and get a higher power output for much cheaper
@travman0610 I dunno, because the block on the Civic is Aluminum with a much higher compression rate. Any Honda I seen running 16psi ultimately blew up rather quickly. Granted, if done right, they can pull some nice times, but to be honest, I see Honda Civic owners get happy off 13's in a 1/4 mile. Most of the time, if they drive a real Type R, or even an S2000, they are too afraid to compromise the car's originality. Again, even swapping the aluminum block for another engine of a car make.

@travman0610 wow they are open decks, which = very weak. you have to fill or sleeve them to make high amounts or power, the stock bottom end of a sohc like this one in the video is only good to 230hp due the pencil thin rods ( however some people are making upwards of 400 on stock bottom ends). sleeving the block and using vitara pistons on shot peened or after market rods will hold 400+ hp with out problems. my d16y8 stock bottom end on a 20g DSM turbo is making 325hp never had any problems.

If you love to drive FWD piece of shit cars you eventually try to add a Turbo on because they weren't made to handle it, then go for it. I'll drive my car that was already a collectible the day it hit the dealership, that is highly regarded as a sports car and was one of the fastest cars to come out of Japan. That can beat a Supra RZ stock vs stock on the 1/4 mile running 13s.

@segreylapa your dumb if u take off your bov u cant make it have compressor surge.. compressor surge happens by the bov not opening properly causing the turbo wheel to stop spinning for a second and it repeats itself.
