I never use lines on the face before I draw O__e I just draw it and it comes out perfectly fine xD But pretty good for 7 minutes (: I love it ^-^ Especially cause it have ears :3!

You may try putting your camera to the left side and depending on how flexible it is, be able to frame the shot "right side up". The other technique I've seen is shot from top down. Things end up being upside down, but you get a clear line. (I've seen ppl use laptop webcams this way.
