this song is very much underrated, i no a lot of gnr and rock fans who skip this song by. but until you really listen to it, you will never learn to appreciate it. guns have always been top when it comes to the tune and to the lyrics. for me this song holds something very special, my go to song whether im happy or sad.

guns n' roses... its hard to explain but, they have a lot of unheard epic songs... only the real fans of GN'R remember of Breakdown or Coma, but they are epic like the rest of other musics or maybe better ^^

This song is a masterpiece ! All the instruments, guitar, piano, bass, drums make togheter a harmony. The lyrics and the melody are perfect. GN'R is by far my favourite band. I would place this song third on my fav list after Don't cry and Patience. Anyway, I love all their songs! And I want the old band back!
Meaning: The writer of the song (Axl) can't seem to find a peace of mind. He was betrayed by a lot of people, many disappointed him in various ways. He's not sure whether the ones to blame are the ones who surround him or Axl himself. He somehow blames himself. He believes that if someone really cares about him, they will take their time and try to understand his pain and difficulties and help him.
The writer (Axl) is used to the cold of people around him. He is used to be betrayed by his mates. He prefers to be alone now. But still, if he calls one of his friends (or perhaps a woman he loves, I'm not very sure about the meaning of the line) and asks for love - he wants this person to give him some love and support, like before.
When you're tough with other people, they are nice to you and everything is good. You shouldn't be too "soft" with people, otherwise they will hurt you.

You sound like a total dink to! Spagetti Incident doesn't count its all covers. Anyways my point was that Breakdown is a totally awesome sound and that other dink said its like his 45th favorite GNR song. Christ breakdown is better than 80% of the other guns tunes...........and that was my point - ie how can you put it so low on the list - guy is probably not a fan...you know how many songs GNR has appx.... but breakdown scores way better than 45th.... wouldn't you agree...if not your a dink to

This is my second favorite song of all time - rocket queen is my fav, especially the last 3 minutes or so - some of the best vocals and songwriting ever combined!!!

actually there is 75 songs that guns n roses have released on all 5 but spagetti incident was guns n roses covers of punk rock songs so you cant really count them as orginal guns songs so really there is 63 songs of the albums
64 if u include a song called o my god that guns relased for the arnie film end of days this song was a flop is not really recognised as a true guns song.

Im a HUGE GNR fan, even gotta tat of Live and Let Die on my arm. AnyfuckinWay Breakdown is the number one song that deserved a video that didnt get one. In my opinion Garden of Eden out, Breakdown in. Other songs that should have had videos would be Used to Love Her, Rocket Queen, Anything Goes, Mr Brownstone, Out to get me, You Aint the First, Dont Damn Me, COMA (Awesome Tune), Back Off Bitch, Shotgun Blues, Knockin on H.D, Get In the Ring , Locomotive and Motherfuckin BREAKDOWN.

i think any band no matter how great the album is is shit if they suck at performing live like guns they r probably one of the best live performing band ever i mean they knew how to get the crowd hyped they knew how to control themselves onstrage and they knew how to carry themselves through shows when they were practically out of it gn'r may be the best band that at the time worked the best together.. such a shame that they broke up.. but atleast it was for music not something stupid

He stopped shows after a number of warnings as the band were having rocks thrown at them, and fans being completely crushed and passing out.

Slash was actually forced out after he left, duff and izzy left on their own but i was saying that adler was forced out. Yes, that makes sense stoping a show for those reasons but what i have a problem with is starting the shows 3 hours late.
