  • woah! WTF!!! Sorry bout that. It worked for about a year and ???????? I have no clue what happened. I will re post this lesson for you all!

  • great thanks! that will be awesome

  • yep youre right something is wrong..fuzzy then nothing..disappointed ):

  • Maybe its just me, but i think the audio for this video has been damaged. I get static for the first 2 mins, and then the audio just drops out all together.

  • awesome, i was learning this tune for class and it helped me put the melody to the chords and then also practice the progression. Thanks guy.

  • I like to play that Db for one measure then take it to a D #11, I do it in a voicing that keeps the Ab in the melody. Also instead of ii-V-i I like to go to the I up a half step to Db with a 9. Lots of tricks that can be used on this song to make it a little more interesting on the ear.

  • Excellent ideas you have! There are a lot of embellishments you can do with this which is why I think it is a pretty important standard for all Genres not just Jazz.

Glad you could use this vid too!

  • Very nice, I like the chord progression and the bossa beat.

I'm having trouble with the syncopation/rhythm with the base strings.

Guess I'll have to watch and practice some more.

  • Thanks, that was really helpful. I'm taking jazz guitar lessons, and I've recently been assigned Blue Bossa. It's taking me a while to learn to strum it.

  • where is your bass?

  • you look like Fred from the french football club Olympique Lyonnais! and great lesson thanks.

  • don't be so hard on this guy - he's a basic rock player trying to play jazz. he's a rookie, but at least he's trying.

  • Basic rock player??.... Love the complement with the subtext of a condescending insult. Hope you feel better;/ I am a metal guitarist so yes I do not play or listen to Jazz for enjoyment. I just noticed that a lot of my student's found this chord progression simply interesting and usefull for a lot of reasons. Too bad my FREE lesson didn't live up to some of your standards...:( Your welcome and thanks for watching to the rest of you:)

  • hey, thanks :)

  • good one ;)

  • You have a nail at the end of your dick ??? - groce.

  • Leern how 2 speeel nigero

  • good shit man...ive been playing guitar for over 10 years...have good technique but never really paid attention to chords or theory...ive been trying lately and you talk about it with ease and make it seem more simple by displaying it...thanks for this post

  • your welcome! and thank you:)

  • great! more of these bossa standarts please!

  • Please learn how to play the bossa nova rithm before you teach people..

The rest was really good! keep it up!

  • no...

  • I second that.

  • Thanks so much man. You're a great teacher.

  • Thank you very much!!

  • You sorta look like Jim from the office.

  • I was thinking the exact same thing.. lucky guy! haha. Good video, really thorough instructions. =)

  • can you please demonstrazte green dolphin street please? this is jazz guitar 101

    thanks,

  • I'm learning it at my guitar lessons with lector but your vid really help me :). Good job.

  • Very good

  • It's very good for beginner as me, cool, clear and easy to follow, Thanks.

  • very good! I got a question...when you play the D-7(b5) before the G7, you see the G# note in the bass line as a frigian motive to the dominant G7...interesting to me, cause I just saw that note as the b5 of the D chord...but, well, perhaps it doesn´t matter...I would play there the frigian dominant in G, anyway...very good your video, thanx!!!

  • This is pretty good for more advanced beginners or quick learners. Quick tip: The F is also an Fm7 like the other 3 otherwise it sounds a little bit too rock instead of jazz.

  • I know, I use the natural Fm for a stronger bass line with the 5th added. Just sounds better to me but both work nice.

  • i must say i lost you there when do that modulation... :) 2-5-1 in Db? i don't get it. why? :D

  • Reason for modulation: It's not uncommon to modulate up a semitone in blues which is what this is, ultimately.

  • I didn't compose the song but I believe it was just to add some more color and tension to the song for reasons of keeping the music interesting. Plus it gives you a chance to use some nice chromatic implications between the two keys when you solo.

  • Gotta say you've inspired me to pick my guitar back up again, been a while and I learned more from this video than I have ever learned from any one.

  • good vid!

  • Great lesson Brian. If you know theory... But even if you don't know theory one can just watch what you are doing and learn alot! ;)

  • Thanks bro! Ya I was bored and wanted to post some more free stuff up here so I figured what better than a Jazz standard..hehe! This is actually a fun song to solo over or just play the chords. Glad you liked it!

  • If my hands weren't so full of arthritis, I'd get a guitar and take lessons. You're good!

  • Thanks B12:)
