The story was full of plot holes (both in relation to the original series and itself), basically every main character was dismissed after the fangasms that the anime team is famous for having over Goku, the style of the fights was completely changed, and most of it was just a giant rehash of all the piss poor filler they used for the Z anime and movies.

The original anime added an extremely large amount of filler to the series, while Kai remained far more true to its manga origins. Kai is basically the equivalent of FMA: Brotherhood or Hellsing Ultimate: It portrays a far more accurate depiction of the original manga, while cutting out the significantly different changes or additions of the previous anime.

GT was a giant mess of contradictions, plot holes, and general disregard for DB and DBZ's previously established world. Which is normal, considering it was made by the anime team rather than Toriyama and was basically one giant filler arc.

Why does everyone think Kai is crap? It's a great remake of a great show. If you hate it because the music's not done by Bruce, Get over it. He was fired for stealing credit for the music. Good riddance. If you don't like it because of the Dialouge, or because they cut out episodes, This was how Akira originally wrote it. And you can't hate it because of the way it looks. The DVD sets are as remastered as the series can get. So Shut up and Enjoy the epicness

@hildagocrazyfreak Actually the story originally ended in the Cell saga. Therefore the Buu saga dosent truely exist.Toriyama only made the Buu saga because the fans wanted more of DragonBall Z. DragonBall Z Kai actuallys follows Toriyamas true manga. So saying it ends in the Buu saga makes your comment irrelivant
