  • this song remember me Civilization (Video Games)

  • Please this guys had this another very famous song...with similar video..goes sth like ube zangalewa...just couldnt find it on youtube...we used to love it back home.....

  • waka waka mean "walk walk"

  • i feel like i got raped

  • lol I remember this from growing up! It was the highlight of my day when i'd rush home from school and the one (!) television station would start broadcasting from 4p.m and for some reason this song was always playing. Memories of a simpler time :-)

  • fucked up how this better version was made, but you didn't hear it, but now shakira sings it and every body's a kiss ass

    , Africas for all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm sure Shakira doesn't what this song means !

  • Cameroun is not in central Africa ,It is in West Africa!

  • All i remember is that i sang this song at "interhouse sports" back in d day in high school in Nigeria....The beauty of being african is dt u would sing a song whole heartedly and with so much passion and not even know what one word means!!.....Hail mother Africa!!

  • dit is het echte lied

  • I love this song so bad

  • I can't believe shakira copy it for money.

  • @dianalansford It´s not copy, it´s called sample, lots of artists in the world do that. She has just improved the song.

  • to jest kurwa-zajebiste w chuj :)

  • there we goooooooooooooo thats for us

  • Like it.

  • SHAKIRA COPIONA

  • Shakira this and shakira that............. STOP!!!

Shakira is not alone about this EVEN the King Of Pop stole lyrics and rhythm from African artist.

Ask shakira how embarrassed it is for her to sing this song when people are questioning her talents.

Knaan should have the official song as he is more artistic minded than little shakira.

  • no it is not in 1080p XD

  • take me to Africa

  • just beautiful

  • Cameroonian are awesome people !

  • it´s really good... is this the original??

i was listening it singed for Las Chicas del Can in spanish.. was so pretty.. and the title is Waka Waka (El Negro No Puede) ...

    but

    Shakira ruined that song.. =/

  • @mo0xXa2593 yes this is the original from cameroon

  • thumb up if you are the 219 145

  • who can dislike this video??! brings me back to when i was little and i first saw this video!

  • @lmzsly It is probably a few dozen Shakira fans that are upset that their idol didn't come up with the song herself. :-/

  • lyrics pls :D

  • @DrMedWurst2010 Tsamina mina eh eh

    Waka Waka eh eh

    Tsamina mina zangalewa

    Anawa aa

  • @SAULlovesHELENA yea that's true bro. one love

  • Shakira tried but this one is better :3

  • search bolder gazet van antwerpen

  • @SAULlovesHELENA hide history? you dumb beaner we conquered the world and everything in it. history is written by the victors.

  • oye que video chingon salidos desde mexico

  • SHAKIRA MADE THIS SONG SO POPULAR, AND NOW YOU SAY THAT SHE RUINED IT ... WTF :/

  • @MrvaSarajevo already popular in Africa

  • @MrvaSarajevo i love shakira but she showed she was a slave to her record label Sony, //a.k.a the music branch of illuminati//, when she was asked where she got the idea for the song. she said she was walking somewhere and the idea came to her. i know that's what Sony told her to say but these artist got to start taking responsibility for themselves.

  • @1SecondLeft0 you are right!

  • @MrvaSarajevo Shakira did not make this song popular. since Anericans thinks the world is limited to their countries and states, I understand. this song was popular all over Africa and Europe back in the 80's.

  • @annilaure

OK, that`s true.. But I was born in 90`-s and I listened to this song for the first time in 2010. :) From Shakira.. She revived it :)

  • OMG!! We used to dance to this as kids with clothes stuffed in our pants to mimic these guys. Thanks so much for sharing...been searching for this for ages.

  • 0:28 hmh

  • where does the song says when it sing: waka waka eh eh handara ahahawelcome to africa!

  • shakira is a fuckin fraud

  • greate ong :)

  • beautiful sounds of Africa

  • i think waka waka means "run run". They said waka in the movie Apocalypto and the translation said "run"

  • @xXMeDeeXx you DO know apocalypto's story is placed in central america and the language they use is Mayan... right?. And this is cameroun in Africa... right?, You were just joking when you said that.. RIGHT?.

  • @rikudou33 no, i wasn't joking. I just waid what i saw and what i THINK it means. I didn't say it was true.

  • @xXMeDeeXx I am from Cameroon and you are very Closed to the Meaning. Waka come from the English Word " Walk " , its a slang used in Cameroon. There is a language ins Cameroon called " Pidgin" used back in the colonial days to codify English so that British Colonialist couldn't understand. But nice try, you are good....

  • @xXMeDeeXx It doesn't mean run but rather ''walk''.

  • feo

  • tontos

  • Pero que no era original??

  • Original > Shakira

  • @kol508 ¿sarcasmo?

  • @kol508 yeah right

  • Come on people. Everyone should have known that it originated from Africa. The lyric is an African language, how would shakira know that language? Well, at least give her the credit for reviving it and adding her own lyric to it, but she should have at least given credit to the originators instead of fully claiming it. That part was messed up though.

  • That sounds creepy!!!!

    Cannibal song...

  • haha :D

  • i never thought this is an old song. obviously shakira's version came from this one but english parts were added

  • ahhh.... what were shakira`s producers thinking?

  • Waka Waka by Shakira is a song that represents the real essence of the World Cup. She really did write the verses of the song while drawing inspiration from different influences like Colombian and African chants and rhythms.

  • @markado09 It is true to say Shakira's song used a new verse etc, but to say "drawing inspiration......." may be a stretch. The fundamental aspects of the song is the same as this original.... so to me, its more like using the original and varying it some. Just my opinion.

• i love this song

  • So its like

Wait! eh eh Wait! eh eh

come come, where are you from-from?

  • uhm :O I've knew this song for years :D The Crew Traffasi covered it and I always loved it :D

  • Love this song, Any have the meaning in Spanish or English???

    beides richtig geile lieder!

  • Relax Mark070892 Shakira came up with an awesome version of this old Venezuela hit back in 1982 that was a standard African dance/march song and made popular by Golden Chorus/Zangalewa around 1985/6. I think you're right that her words provide insight and application to the world cup. Most people know this..others don't know their history or do their homework. Bravo Shakira on a great job.

  • this is a great song

  • papa lolo

  • Never mind what I said. She claimed the song as her own and gives no credit to the cameroons? (Is that how you spell it?)

  • Ok guys don't hate on Shakira just for remaking the song. She just did that to simplify the song and making it a bit shorter that's all. :)

  • FOR evryone 2 know that shakira is NOT the first one who come out with song!!

shakira knows 2 and i know that shakira toke this song from a dominican republic girlband in the 80's called ''LAS CHICAS DEL CAN'' they are the first ones who came whit this lycris waka waka NOT shakira becuase this girls are AMERICAN LATIN THATS what we all know from Latin America she was'nt the first she copy from them!!! it just come clear that is a original song of african band thats way she made it

  • @christinababyC3 no its a cameroonian song. the lyrics and words a Cameroonian too. its came out earlier than it did in the Dominican republic. Again classic hijacking of African achievements.

  • cool

  • This is not the whole song though, the whole song is 11 minutes long, with this as the last part.

  • better than the 2010 shit.. !!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG>>>>SHAKIRA TRIED>>>>BUT NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL....

  • @jesus411able SHAKIRA RUINED THE SONG

  • @jesus411able I have to agree with u. I could not understand a rass she said. One thing I enjoyed of Shakira was her beautiful body moving. lol

  • I like this version. Far better than Shakira. I hope she paid some of her earnings to the composers.

  • Shakira sucks, this version is 10000 timesmore catchy, but the video is retarded come on these are not proud africans :S

  • hahah, we did listen to the shakira version first and then this in class xD

  • Proud to Be From Cameroun :)

I LIKE IT!!!!

  • I prefer this version!

I hate the fact that some Cuban made the song representing South Africa's game... she has nothing to do with it.

South Africa has better artists then her. This sony is nice, so it can be used, but it's a real shame Africa wasn't presented more in the song.

  • The owners of this song asked Shakira to redo the song for the World Cup!!!! They new Shakira is a big artist worldwide!!!!!!!!!

  • @ilozanovargas dude check the second video in the relatted videos section

  • @ilozanovargas Proved it, show where you read that info....

  • @ilozanovargas and thats why shakira was sued by them?? lol.

  • mt bom

  • Mark070892

thou shalt be dumb for it anyway no longer makes plagiarism ...

support people like that is the same as support staff who make piracy

  • Shakira have steel this song !!!

  • cool

  • i like this one :)) rather than shakira

  • i love this video best video on youtube and its from my country Cameroon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3

  • @girliejoka please confirm tht the translation above is correct

  • @believer2010ful Hi

my english is not very well. Im beti from cameroon and it is my language. This sing is an army song from cameroon; and zamgalewa come from ZA = WHO. ANGA LOE WA= DID CALL YOU? In french we said: qui t'a appelé?

  • To be honest

I prefer this video more than shakira :)

  • I always love the originals songs...

  • @paatrick90: The language is called Fang. It is spoken in Cameroon, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea by the Fang people.

  • Gr8 song,

Could anyone tell mewhat language that's being used in this song?

  • The original sounds better than Shakiras version. I agree, they should have let an African artist revamp this song for the World Cup. Shakira is already rich and famous, now she is making millions off of this song aswell.

What a waste, I think Africans could have respected their own culture better with a local band/artist than some pop singer...

  • all shakira did make it better like they do to movies. she not a faker

  • This song inspired the song Shakira made!!

She isn't a faker don't be ignorant please.

Don't you think the Africans would be able to tell.

  • I like these version than shakira faker one

    srsly....

    the original sound better

  • the real video, ja ja ja ja ja já

  • i remember this from one of my father's old tapes! great song <3

  • Are you people stupid? The song is from Africa. The world cup was from Africa.

A song to a world cup in Africa = to cover a famous african song and make it a modern song. The lyrics from Shakira explains better the song. This song is from the Cameroonian army. It makes sense. Battle = Army.

A modern battle, could be a footballmatch so, it makes sense. Shakira is not a faker, she made the world know about an african song, but in a modern way.

  • @Mark070892

Nigerian actually but I totally agree. However they should have picked an African artist instead of Shakira

  • @Mark070892 yes, you´re right, dumbass people around now is coming here to complain Shakira when they must be very grateful with her for sticking out this wonderful tune which most of people didn´t know. Cheers for Shakira!!!

  • @Mark070892 Thank you! Thank you! i hate these ignorant people. Thanks again :)

  • @Mark070892 the problem is that she lied. i agree with you in trying to modernize the song but at least she would admit it but no. search here on youtube for "shakira lies about the origins of waka waka"

  • @Mark070892 - ur the stupid one. I dont know what world u live in but in the world the rest of us live in, you are supposed to legally and ethically compensate an artist for covering their music especially if you are going to subsequently make $ off it. You're also supposed to give credit to the original artist. B/c she didnt take the ethical route, the reality is that most ppl (her vid has more than 150 mill hits) think its her original song. She & her record company deserve to go bankrupt!

  • @ioriginale you are right.these people will never acknowledge that good things can also originate from Africa.Exploitation is their bussiness

  • @Mark070892

Do not take Shakiras name and give her creds for this song of song.

This song makes me shed a tear. Africa is the cradle of mankind.

  • @sweduck Zangalewa is a famous song in Africa and parts of South America. If you didn't know Shakira covered it you need to get out more.

  • @Samyaza1 why did you think I wrote what I wrote... Dont give Shakira creds for covering it. dammit read what I write

  • @Mark070892 NO SHE CLEARLY STATED THAT SHE CREATED THE SONG HERSELF SHE GAVE ZERO CREDIT TO THE CAMEROONIANS!!!! SO STOP LYING AND USING THAT STUPID PROPAGANDA!!!!

  • @Mark070892 shakira never gave credit to them, she even said she invented the lyrics in one interview...also the original creator of the song sued shakira and the case was settled out of court.

  • @Mark070892

you can't make cover so simply.. it's not legal..

  • @Mark070892 shakira says she made it up herself

  • @Mark070892 check "las chicas del can" i know this song from there

  • @Mark070892 Properly put (although crudely!) And yeah, she brought the song to the world, but this ain't exactly "joy to world" tune! (military propaganda yes!) Good song, though I agree irregardless.

  • @bravuro2000 It is not a ''military propaganda''. You should understand the meaning before saying things you don't know.

  • Mark070892 is right!I don't get why7 people don't like this song!

  • Comment removed

  • @Mark070892

What you didn't get is that Shakira lies about the origin of the sound during her interview at the world cup opening. She claimed the song was fully composed by her. the interview is available here up. search for "Shakira Lies about the Origins of Waka Waka for Africa" and you will see her lie. Also seach for "zangalewa" if you wanna see the original song.

  • @Mark070892 nvm, orignal version is better for me

  • looks like a well-known song in africa. shakira should give the world an explaination. she might have authorization to use this part...

  • Eminem - Sing for the moment - taken from ACDC

Shakira - Waka Waka - Taken from some African group

I could write more but you get the point. Many many many songs nowadays are just covers of old songs. "Artists" nowadays are just adding bass tones and a few extra lines to songs that have already been made and assuming that the current generation wont know the old songs and that the older generation wont listen to "the crap kids play these days"

  • @supanova5k snoop dogg - riders on the storm (doors) puff daddy feat. jimmy page - kashmir (led zeppelin)

what i meant to say is that this guy is right, today we have many of these copycats who become popular by pressing a few keys on the keyboard but they are sheat compared to the old days ARTISTS...

i personally like this one better cuz' of its rhythm that makes it special. shakira sounds as if she was constipated (can't take a sheat) when she was singing.

  • @supanova5k you're right. I think the furor however is that Shakira in her press conference prior to the world cup claimed the song "came" to her. It 'ld have been more oper if she ackowledged the original source!

  • AHI HAY NEGROS PINTADOS DE BLANCOS! MALDITOS RACISTAS!! JAJA

  • love the original!!!

  • FUE LA MEJOR CANCION DE SU TIEMPO

  • thank you thankyou
