@Edie6969 I think it has to do with the seam under the chopstick. If you notice the table right under the tips of the chopstick, there is a gap between the two pieces of wood. Something small like 2 needles, or 2 clear lines could have been used to separate the chopsticks apart. Of course the "audience" would not notice because they were mostly likely there to fool you.

@telavasapela The first trick also appears to have something to do with the gap in the table. Notice on the slowmo there is a second gap to the right where a line could have been pulled through. In both tricks, the magician uses shadow produced by his hands to cover the gaps in the table.

My Guess: The lady has to hold it down for the trick to work. There's small wires or thin fishing line at the ends of the chopsticks, and running down between the two board of the table (look at 1:20). Then someone underneath the table pulls them apart. If the lady weren't holding the sticks down, they'd go all over the place.

Of course these aren't new chopsticks, so they've most likely loosened it in the pointy end, and not in the stubby end, then when she presses her finger between the chopsticks, they would separate in the pointy end, because nothing is holding it there.

2: The chopstick are placed back in to the paper bag thin ends first. The thread is fed through the 'crack' in the table.

3: He lines up the end of the paper bag with the crack in the table and gently pulls the threads downwards using his feet. The chopsticks are 'magically' pulled out of the sleeve by the threads.

6: He the pulls the two threads apart from each other, separating the sticks.
