I understand where you are coming from. As a parent of a 4 & 5 year old, trust me I understand wanting to make sure that your child is getting everything that he or she needs to become a successful and responsible adult. On the flip side, not only am I a parent, but I am also a Kindergarten teacher in a public school.
I think I may be able to shed some light as to why your son is "bored" at school. In the home, there are video games, movies, & other forms of entertainment to keep your child's attention.
This is not the case at school. Schools are very limited with what they can show to "catch" & "engage" children.
As parents, we just need to try to encourage our children to do their best. (Even if they get bored from time to time.) We also need to work closely with their educators. Sometimes we teachers just need a little help to make things better for our kids. For me to make my room more appealing for my students, I have parents come in to volunteer and run stations. We all are in this thing called education together. Good luck!
*Don't forget that you are your child's 1st teacher. *
