mithurs is wrong, allthough he did not recover that is not the reason he is a monster. there were 2 parts of the JENOVA project S, which produced sephiroth, and G, which produced genesis and angeal. In JENOVA project G, Gillian (angeals mother) was injected with JENOVA cells, and the aim was to give Gillians cells to other persons to mimic JENOVA the result is genesis, however Angeal was exposed to Gillians cells in the womb since Gillian was his mother.
