I find it funny how Americans say that China distort news with censorship. CCTV have int'l news that reports world issues across the globe. WHen I watch CNN, FOX, MSNBC, it's always about US politics, nothing more. I never see any real news on US network. Anything int'l are always ignored without concerns. I have to watch Chinese news just to know what's going on with the rest of the world. So you tell me which country has more media censorships.

They cant, because the time zones dude, you didnt know? the ceremony kicked off at what? 8:00 Beijing time? they would have to play that early in the morning if they wanted to do it live. You know? if you want to see it live you had to set your alarm clock to 7:30 in the morning.

When I was in Hong Kong back in 2004 they broadcast the Athens opening LIVE and it was like 3am in the morning in Hong Kong. And they broadcast all events LIVE. There are already alot of people in the states complaining about NBC failing to cover the Beijing opening LIVE.
