I started on 25 mg. my dosage goes up every five days. I am in 60mg now and in 3 more days I will be at 80 mg. This guy must be a light weight if he feels like that on just 12 mg. I'm a pro lol. I'm a 25 year old female. The first day on 25 mg I thought I was dying lol I had chills, severe nausea, and just wanted to sleep all day. Only lasting that first day. Been fine every since!
i was just put on strattera... I hope I don't become agitated also! oh no.... >_< It's my second day and all I feel is tired. My friend has told me that I am a zombie version of Spock from Star Trek. hmmm..
Are you still taking strattera? If you are you should probably take it before you go to sleep. I am taking 40mg atm and I have noticed that the side effects (mostly upset stomach and lethargy) are nearly gone.
I heard with dysautonomia that it really doesn't take much than a tiny dosage change to set off side effects. Sad to say, and hopefully it is just your med. but your symptoms sound just like my every day pots. The nausea is terrible to have :( Sorry you've been feeling so bad for a few weeks now :( get better soon!!!
The randomness of this disease is the worst! Always looking for a reason, an explanation for symptoms...but it is so frustrating and impossible to find a logical explanation for such crazy, bizarre, out of nowhere symptoms!!! Hope you feel better soon :)
@ChanShelly Thanks a bunch! I am starting to feel a bit better, finally :-) Now I just hope it stays that way. It's never any fun when symptoms just linger! The background music is from the movie Sneakers with Robert Redford. I wanted background music to break up the monotony of my word vomit and the only thing I had on the laptop that was long enough was that! Well, and Pink Floyd and Gershwin, but Sneakers seemed more upbeat so I went with that! Hope you're doing well!
@radlikemad Thanks Shan :-) It has improved a little in the last couple of days, thank heavens! It's not gone by any means, but I'll take any improvement for sure!! How are you doing? I hope all is well up North :-)
Sorry your feeling so rotten...I've given up trying to figure out why I have certain symp. for months and then they just goes away.I hope you can figure out what causing your problems so you can feel better soon!! Hang in there! I hope you have a good weekend :) --Cindy
@poetrygal1 Thanks Cindy, at the moment the stomach stuff has calmed down just enough for me to handle being somewhat active again, so that's good. Not sure why of course. I cut back on my dairy a little, and I also went back down to 10mg on the Strattera. I'm going to keep both changes up for another day and see how it goes! I hope you're feeling alright yourself! :-)
I must say the best spokesperson out there for Dysautonomia would be Dally. Not only is she fun, but she is super-smart! By the way, love the setting that you're in.
@thadpriley Haha, how did I not think of that! Chock it up to brainfog I guess :-) Thanks Thad! That is one of the great things about having a "big" yard, there's lots of fun places I can use for backgrounds!
I know EXACTLY the feeling you're talking about when trying to sleep, I absolutely HATE it when I get that. Sometimes I'll actually jump up and run into the bathroom as if something is horribly wrong and then try to get back to bed and keep having that getting jolted awake for no reason and aggravated head and numbness/weakness symptoms to go along with it. It's no fun for sure.
@seanmiz It is definitely one of the most annoying symptoms I get, partially because it's just excrutiatingly unpleasant, and partially because whenever it happens it means I will not get enough sleep :-( It has been a little different lately than it was even a year ago though, I can make it go away.....IF I get out of bed and do something.... It only seems to be happening when I'm laying down to sleep... how's that for weird!!

And the shaking can also be your body trying to get use to the drug, or your dose is going up to high.

I am also on Strattera, I found that you need to eat food often to not feel sick. And you need to eat a decent amount of it.
