  • is this the concert where grand funk debuted? someone told me this was better than woodstock.

  • In Germany, "Led Zeppelin" (actually, their NAME) were banned because of Madame Von Zeppelin, (Widow of Mr Zeppelin-inventor or the dirigible, or "blimp") When she heard that the band had used their surname, she was happy at 1st, until she saw the bands 1st album cover with the Hindenburg blowing up in flames! She was apalled! So......they were booked as ..........you guessed it!

  • Does anyone (besides the obvious) know that "The Nobs" actually WERE a band that was booked as such, and played some gigs in the early 70's?

  • The Nobs are awesome!! Who the hell were this "Led Zeppelin" anyway?

  • @TheSubstituteGnome a tribute band of The Nobs

  • i take it back the original is by tiny bradshaw

  • tons of people have covered train kept a rollin it's one of the best songs ever written

  • the real original version is by johnny burnette

  • can you listen to this song and keep your foot from tapping? i can't. whenever i hear this i want to shake my head and play air guitar

  • I love your barrage of comments lol

  • yup that's my thang

  • this is amazing, just brilliant

  • I think it's way better than that. What do you know, anyway? Bet you never heard this done by the Yardbirds. You call yourself a Nobs fan?

    Who is the guitar player?

  • Woah. Who's to he/she hasnt heard it down by The Yardbirds??? You cant assume those things, you just come off as an asshole..

  • check the comment above yours, I hadn't hit reply. Don't call people assholes, it's not nice.

  • Sorry, I was just saying you came off as one, I didnt call you one.

  • I can see why you would think so. As it happens, this was a "private joke". (obviously, this is not a private forum). The comment above mine was made by my son. It was a coincidence and I was just kidding him. I, of course, more than agree with my kid. It's a misunderstanding. Peace.

  • This was the first song Page, John Paul, Bonham, and plant all played together.

  • Yup sure did! Joe & Steven were "BIG YARDBIRD" FANS. Both had unique style. I have this, I believe it's TEXAS JAM 69.

Aerosmith took the Train to another level.

    aka: ZephelenM

  • Aerosmith recorded Led Zeppelin's version of the song:P

  • no they didnt, this version was never released.

  • he means yardbirds they did it first

  • I mean, Aerosmith's version is very similar to this. I mean, they did cover this one, and not the Yardbirds version.

  • Led Zeppelin should have recorded this in the studio for the first album. It would have fit right in!

  • i think they were planning to put it on the next album in the early 80's

  • I just got this whole album sounds alot better through my radio great album.

  • OK, here's the story: This concert was to take place in Sweden I beleive, or some other Northern European country where the Royalty was actually named Von Zeppelin and wouldn't have a rock and roll band use the family name. So they called themselves the nobs for one or more concerts during this time.

  • and also after yelling at the band and grant she was almost about to leave peacefully when she saw the album cover of her great grandfathers Zeppelin in flames and was almost about to sue! but Page and Grant calmed her down and

  • That had to be a wonderful view:P.

  • Plant's voice changed so dramaticaly from the 68/69 era to 70 it was so much cleaner in 70 watch Communication Breakdown from the Royal Albert Hall and then from Danish TV

  • but remember those were all profesionly mixed.

  • In some degree you're right, but Plant realy took some serious trainings is singing before Led Zeppelin III, he even mention it in some interview.

  • just love the Zeppelin version of this song...the first metal version. aerosmith ripped this for there version.

  • Led Zeppelin is not, and never was metal. Jesus Christ, dudes how come a band with 1/3 of their material is acoustic could be metal... For God's sake...

  • the Basic structures of "metal" ARE in fact included in much of Led Zeppelins early playing from 68-73 If you listen you will hear the building blocks of metal...have an open mind "Dude"

  • well if you listen to Muh music and MTV (god i hate it) they say zeppelin is metal, but if you look at zeppelin I its pure blues!, zeppelin II has more heavyer rock sound, with songs like Whole Lotta Love and Heartbreaker, but still brings the blues with The Lemon Song, Bring It On Home and Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just A Woman), zeppelin III more acoustic then ever, Zeppelin IV the greatist rock album ever! and so on and so forth...

  • 591 here...do i hear 592?

  • second....

  • Oh yea first to comment!
