you also have to relize that Ben was a freshman at this time and developed more all the way to his senior year. i think that if both wrestled each other when both were seniors.. i think Ben would win

you have to realize how fast Chris is on his feet. Askren cant handle that speed, always has problems with it. At 174s nobody could hang with Pendleton at his best.

robruce2 do you know anything about wrestling? Ben only beat him one time... they wrestled around 8 times. He has an unorthadox style that caught tons of guys as that usually does. And one year out of college i've personally seen them practice together, ben still couldnt handle chris.

They called Pendleton a senior, but he was actually only a junior. He beat Askren again in the finals the next year.

If u notice in that match, Askren attempts to reach back and apply a headlock while being ridden, something most wrestling coaches would say NO to. But he is just such an amazing wrestler, and so strong, he is able to pull off these moves.
