  • I want to go to Gaden and Kechara House, meet Tsem Tulku Rinoche and find the meaning in life.

  • I found my meaning of life from H.E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche's teaching. Thank you Rinpoche.

  • Wonderful explanation and promotion of Lama Tsongkhapa's Gaden Monastery. I would like to go there one day.

  • Yes, there is a video on youtube. Search for: What the Gaden Tripa thinks of Tsem Tulku Rinpoche ? It is also very heartwarming to 'meet' Gaden Tripa online, how wonderful and warm His Holiness is eventhough he's a very great scholar, and very humble. I guess that's why he's the Gaden Tripa and not me, hee hee!

  • Do you know that HH Gaden Tripa endorses Rinpoches book as well? The book Compassion Conquers All that teaches about Eight Verses of Thought Transformation, a great teaching from Geshe Langri Tangpa.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is famous for doing a lot of charity work for the monastic and lay people in Mundgod. Rinpoche fundraised to build a monk hostel of Phukhang Khamtsen, and he gave food monthly to the poor villagers, buying groceries for many poor families there.

  • It would be when the Kechara Guest House is ready. Many spiritual seeker can go to experience real spiritual environment of a pure lineage and tradition, and to see how REAL PRACTITIONERS live and work hard for Buddhadharma every day.

  • What a great master H E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is. He always shows humility to everyone despite him being a Rinpoche. In being humble to the Sangha of Gaden, regardless of their status, he commands the respect of many and is a great model for his students to learn humility.

  • This must be a time consuming project to get 3000 Manjushri statues to be made, to have the face painted with gold and even to have the traditional brocade sewn for the statues. Not to mention how much money it would cost for such beautiful statues and brocade cloth offerings for the statues.

  • This also shows that Tsem Tulku Rinpoche has worked hard in Malaysia to gather students who are kind and generous, and that Rinpoche never forgot his roots Gaden Monastery.

  • I was very surprised to see the monks offering back the Manjushri to all the members of Kechara House. It shows that the monks in Gaden Monastery are not greedy with material items, even when it comes to Buddha statues. Its an honour to be able to watch this video to see such a kind act.

  • Offering the statues benefit the person who offer and the person who receives. This is a great idea. The monks will pray and make offerings to the Manjushri statues, who represents Buddha of Wisdom. This will help the monks gain wisdom. The sponsors, Kechara members, who offered the Buddha of Wisdom, will also gain wisdom from making this offering because this created the cause for them to receive wisdom in the future.

  • I didnt know that we can offer statues to monks. I thought we usually offer monk robes and food like in Thailand. This is really a very educational video. I know more ways to collect merits now, thank you.

  • I think this is a lesson to His Eminences students about gratitude. To give back to the Monastery that he has benefitted much from. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche always talks about showing gratitude in his Dharma teachings.

  • Thank you for posting this video. Tsem Rinpoche really is an inspiration because his students made such a tremendous offering to the monastery. And look at all the monks, especially the young monks, they are so happy. So cute!

  • You can purchase from Amazon, kechara(dot)com eshop, or vajrasecrets(dot)com. It is in DVD format and it comes with a beautiful little booklet attached to the video case very informative little booklet.

  • I like this video very much, to watch how peaceful and cosy the monastery is, and monks doing prayers. I want to get a copy of this video! Where can I get one?!

  • I went to Tsemtulku(dot) com and found that His Eminence did many charitable projects before, including raising funds for a monk hostel, building schools and sponsoring groceries for the poor villagers in India. What a holy monk! I fold my hands to you Rinpoche.

  • I am sure it is because Rinpoche is kind and generous, hence his students also learnt from Rinpoche to make such an offering to the monks. I have never seen people making such offering to monks before and such a big group went to attend the puja and offered the statues and robes personally, how sincere.

  • The people from Kechara are really generous to make such a big offering to the monks. The monks really do need more support because they do not have much. Also, not all monks have sponsors who can provide for them.

  • I read that however many atoms there are in the statue one is sponsoring, for that many lifetimes one will be reborn as a king in the god or human realm. Wow, I wonder which King? Hehehe

  • I have heard about the benefit of sponsoring 1 Buddha statue, think of that multiplying 3000 times, wow, huge amount of spiritual merits. What a great offering to the Sangha, where the Sangha benefit, and also the sponsors themselves benefit. When is Kechara House doing these kind of projects again?

  • What a great offering to the holy monastery founded by Je Rinpoche. Tsem Tulku and his students sponsored 3000 statues to the holy sangha of Gaden Monastery shows that they really support the Sangha and want the tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa to grow, not only in their own Dharma centre.

  • We can see how happy the monks are to receive and welcome Rinpoche. I pray that Tsem Tulku Rinpoche lives long to turn the wheel of Dharma. Thank you Rinpoche for the many videos on youtube that teaches us how do use Dharma to solve our problems. Thank you very much.

  • The is really beautiful, with many monks chanting prayers, everyone wearing holy robes. Hey, I just thought of something, since all monks are offered a set of robes by Kechara, wow, that means many monks will be wearing robes sponsored by Kechara House.

  • What a nice video of a Guru bringing his students to his monastery for pilgrimage. I hope I can visit Gaden Monastery in the future. May be when Kechara Guest House is up and running?

  • Gaden Monastery is like Nalanda. It is as if I am watching Nalanda in 21st century. I am glad that great monastic university like Gaden is still around to produce more and more erudite masters that will continue to teach the holy Buddhadharma to the world.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche has contributed much to the monastery through funds and promoting his Gurus. Now, Rinpoche is keeping the lineage of Gaden alive by promoting it to outsiders that are non-Tibetans by establishing Dharma community in Malaysia through Kechara.

  • Yes, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche received his sets of teaching about the 8 Verses of Thought Transformation from His Holiness the Dalai Lama I think. Someone check and watch the video: Eight Verses of Thought Transformation please?

  • I read from some comments online that Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche's works have been translated into English, including the commentary for the 8 verses of Transforming the Mind which His Holiness the Dalai Lama uses it as study material personally and promotes the teaching widely.

  • I think it is difficult, because in Gaden Monastery, the studies and debates are all in Tibetan. Luckily Tsem Tulku Rinpoche speaks English very well, and I can learn great teachings like Eight Verses of Thought Transformation in English from Tsem Tulku Rinpoche without even going to Malaysia!

  • That means we are learning the lineage of Gaden, the lineage where His Holiness the Dalai Lamas tutor is from?? WOW!!!! I WANT TO VISIT GADEN MONASTERY!!!!

  • Let me tell you something mind blowing. Prince Siddhartha asked his friend and charioteer, Channa, about the meaning of these unexpected sightsof sickness, old age and death, and Channa replied with the appropriate answer, leading the Prince to a complete realisation of suffering. When the Prince secretly fled from the palace, Channa and his horse were the only ones allowed to accompany him. Trijang Rinpoche was Channa!

  • Trijang Rinpoche was responsible for editing the classic Lamrim teaching text by his root Guru, Pabongka Rinpoche, which is entitled Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand. What great masters both of them are.

  • Yes, Trijang Rinpoche is from Gaden Monastery. Isnt that amazing, that a great master like Trijang Rinpoche has students who are great masters and passed the tradition down to the next generation of great masters.

  • Wow, you mean Lama Yeshe who founded FPMT, and Geshe Kelsang Gyatso who founded NKT, these 2 great organisations founder are students of Trijang Rinpoche? Thats unbelievable. On top of that, hes also the tutor for His Holiness the Dalai Lama? What a great master!

  • Wow, Kechara House was given the works of Trijang Rinpoche. Trijang Rinpoche was the junior tutor and spiritual guide]of the 14th Dalai Lama for fifty years. He is also the root lama of many Gelug Lamas who teach in the West including Zong Rinpoche, Geshe Rabten, Lama Yeshe, and Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

  • We can see in this video that many holy monks from Gaden came to make offerings to Rinpoche. I think this shows that Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is very much respected in the monastery. Even the old monks show great respect to Rinpoche.

  • If we support Kechara more, for example, visit the vegetarian restaurant, the Dharma stores, donating at the centre, and even donating directly to the monk/ sangha funds, perhaps they will gather enough funds to do that?

  • Wow this monastery is big, look at the amount of the monks in the prayer hall, and there are many monks sitting outside the prayer halls too. They really do need a bigger hall. May be Kechara can raise fund again?

  • This is great, to see where Tsem Tulku Rinpoche comes from and finally to see Gaden as Tsem Tulku Rinpoche always talk about and promote Gaden Monastery and the holy monks, especially his Gurus and the senior Lamas like the Abbot etc.

  • In this video, we can see that they have Dharma stores. These stores are beautiful and in malls, wow! Ive never seen such modern and nice Dharma stores in malls before. What a great idea. It looks like the Kechara people are really working hard to bring Dharma to people.

  • I found out from the director of the restaurant that Rinpoche is this committed to be kind towards animals and against violence towards animals. His Eminence expressed his wish to open a vegetarian restaurant.

His Holiness the Gaden Tripa (complete version)

现在的唐卡挂在Kechara House(克切拉佛教中心)。

    你可以在他们网站阅读他们kecharahouse(dot)com阅读。

1. Setrap Chinese Puja Talk (with Chinese translation) - Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, 2. SETRAP Superstar, 3. SETRAP - The Great Protector of Gaden Shartse

  • Gaden Monastery in Tibet was prophesised by Buddha Shakyamuni. One of Buddha's disciple buried a conch shell to where Gaden Monastery was to be built and the great thing is thata Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of the monastery excavated the conch shell and built the monastery where the conch shell was uncovered.

  • The current Gaden Monastery was set up in 1969 and was built by the great Tibetan masters themselves who escaped from Tibet. The upkeep of it was through many hardships and effort. We should really appreciate and support the monks by our actions of sponsoring.

  • The people who had the opportunity to go to Gaden have very good merits to be able to perform acts that help them to collect even more merits. This is really a great way to continue on the spiritual path collecting merits.

  • Yes, the monks should not spend much of their time to procure necessities of life and they should focus on becoming scholars, great teachers and practitioners to further spread Dharma to the world. We should help to sponsor the monks as much as we can.

  • Where there is Buddha dharma , the monks are working hard to support the lay practitioners or general public with spiritual knowledge a peolpe should suppor rituals, but the sangha are not supported or sponsored. The lay people like us should sponsor material necessities I so that the monks do not spend their time away from studying and practising Dharma.

  • It is true, but still there is the reality of life. Some monks have to do labour work like planting / farming, and they have to take care of their cow herds etc in the monastery that takes them away from doing Dharma learning or practice. So please for those who can afford, please help to sponsor the monks. Kechara has a monk funds, you can email them for more details.

  • I guess they do not have much distraction then? I'm, very sure good things will happen for these monks as they have good motivation and they work sincerely for others.

  • It is sad to see that the monks are poor and couldnt even afford a statue, but I guess it is great because their focus in only in learning the Buddhadharma and they withstand this poverty for the sake of Buddhadharma. But please, do support the monks of Gaden Monastery because they really do live in poor conditions and some monks do not have sponsors.

  • I agree with what Tsem Tulku Rinpoche said in the newspaper interview, that Buddhist teachings can be used to solve immediate, mundane problems and provide remedial relief for a certain state of mind or unhappiness, there is no quick fix for enlightenment

  • Rinpoche does have students who are jet setters with limited time, but they are all very committed. We can see that they are liaisons, and also have posts in the various departments and are present in all major events in the centre. It is very inspiring and sets a good example for those who talk Dharma but does not practice or commit to do anything to bring benefit to others.

  • Yes, I read in The Star (the largest circulated newspaper in Malaysia) yesterday in the People feature in STARTWO that Rinpoche said does not wish to become a designer guru who tailored his teachings to suit the jet set with limited time.

  • I agree with you. I remember I read that in Gurus for Hire Enlightenment for Sale by Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is not interested to be a designer lama with huge followers who dont really know much about Dharma or are committed to Dharma practice.

  • Yes, all the traditions in Tibetan Buddhism are great and produced many attained masters. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche always stresses that we can shop around until we find a suitable tradition and guru, and then we commit all the way to one guru, one tradition so that we dont get confused.

  • Thats new info for me. I dont really check out the Dharma Centre scene, but I do know there are different sects in Tibetan Buddhism and they are all great.

  • We have to be grateful that many of these great Tibetan masters escaped and started Gaden Monastery in South India. Do you know that some of the biggest chains of Tibetan Buddhist centres around the world are from the Gelugpa lineage that started with Lama Tsongkhapa and Gaden?

  • Yes, nowadays Buddhism is not just a religion, Buddhist psychology and many Buddhist teachings and practices, like Tumo and general meditation etc, are being examined by scientists, academicians, philosophers all over the world.

  • How wonderful for Kechara House to support the monks so they can preserve and spread Buddhadharma. Without the monks all forms of teachings and learning will be lost. Imagine if all the great Tibetan masters were wiped out in Tibet, it will be such a great lost to the world!!!

  • I like to watch the pilgrims and Rinpoche offering khatas to the high Rinpoches . The gesture is so warm and beautiful. I have never seen people exchanging greetings in such a beautiful way.

  • Khangtsen is a unit of houses within a Tibetan monastery, which usually consists of a meeting hall and several residential buildings. These units were allocated to the different regions of Tibet. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche belongs to Pukhang Khangtsen of Gaden Shartse.

  • Why was Rinpoche offered a yellow hat at Pukhang Khangtsen? Is it where Rinpoche stays in the monastery? What is a Khangsten?

  • I rejoice that Kechara House members support in preserving the Buddadharma through supporting their guru Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and also Gaden Monastery.

  • The sangha of Gaden Monastery work very hard to preserve Buddhist traditions and teaching, it is especially difficult during this degenerate age of Buddhadharma. It is heartening that live their lives in poverty with nothing much just to learn and practice the Dharma.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche must be a great teacher since Rinpoche has such a diverse group of students. It is not easy to manage a group of diverse students I think? I saw on the video that Rinpoche has liaisons that are from Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, and also students from Portugal, Hong Kong and visitors from all over the world. I feel great about Kechara and I plan to visit them soon. They have a hostel upstairs of their centre, how convenient.

  • Yes, Rinpoche is very versatile, in order to suit different people with different aptitude and temperament. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche has a diverse group of students from different socioeconomic background and ethnic background etc.

  • This is the first time that I watched Tsem Tulku Rinpoche outside of his teaching videos. Rinpoche is really humble and friendly in real life, unlike his teaching videos where Rinpoche is loud and funny.

  • You can purchase this from kechara(dot)com website by clicking on the eshop tab. This is really a wonderful DVD to have. They come with a small booklet with great short write up about Gaden, Tsongkhapa, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and other great masters. There is also a beautiful picture of the original Gaden Monastery in Tibet.

  • This documentary is really good and with Chinese subtitle. Kechara Media & Publications please do more of these videos and post it up on youtube. By the way is this video for sale in DVD format? I would like to send to my friends and family as gifts.

  • Thank you for putting the video up. Now I know that offering the khata to a holy beings or lama is offering up of our wishes and aspirations. What a beautiful way to offer up our wishes and aspirations.

  • I hope I can visit the beautiful Gaden one day and make offerings to High Lamas personally. It must be a very meritorious and wonderful experience.

  • Rinpoches offering to both college Gaden Shartse and also Gaden Jangste is an act of great generosity as most offerings are made to one 's college only. Very kind and generous of the Kechara people

  • The preparations of the 3000 Manjushri and cutting of all the cloth for the monks have taken ages and so much effort and funds. Kechara House people sure are sincere and generous.

  • I watched us insights into the workings of a monastery thank you Kechara for opening up the world of spiritual beings for us and for Rinpoche to ever continuously manifest benefit for all beings.

  • Kechara Media and Publications team is doing their very best and working very hard to promote Rinpoche's work to the rest of the world in order to benefit whoever who finds it interesting.

  • Gurus for Hire Enlightenment for Sale is a very informative book indeed and currently Kechara Media & Publications is busy promoting this book to the world. I am very proud of the Kechara Media and Publications team. Bravo!

  • I agree with you. I myself have found that this book is very informative and essential for all Dharma students to be or those who are already Dharma Students. It will save us so much trouble and free from unnecessary politics between different centres and supporters of different Lamas.

  • I agree with Tsem Tulku Rinpoches idea/ principle. It is not good to Lama-hop, (switch from one lama to another) and the reasons are clearly mentioned in the Gurus for Hire Enlightenment for Sale book and videos. I personally found it very logic and am very convinced with Tsem Tulku Rinpoches principles.

  • I admire Tsem Tulku Rinpoche because he is very compassionate to others and doesn't convert people from another religion. I heard he doesn't even allow students from another Dharma center to become his students and always encourages them to go back and connect with their own root Guru or lineage lama.

  • I guess you have to start volunteering in the various departments in Kechara, and sign up as a member now! You should start Dharma work with Kechara now to create the causes to visit such a holy place in future with Tsem Tulku Rinpoche!

  • Rinpoche's students sure are lucky to meet all the high lamas of Gaden. You can see HH Zong Rinpoche, Ken Rinpoche, Kensur Kunchog Tsering Rinpoche and so on. They are very happy to see Tsem Rinpoche and welcomed the Kechara pilgrims. I'm sure that they missed Rinpoche's presence in Gaden since Rinpoche was away and hasnt been back for a long time.

  • The current Gaden Monastery was set up in 1969 in Mundgod, South India. From scratch up till todays grandeur, I am sure many Sangha members have sacrified and put in a lot of effort to get the monastery up and running. Very inspiring that these masters escaped from Tibet to a totally foreign country with nothing, and still able to restore the tradition.

  • The pilgrims who have gone to Gaden with Tsem Tulku Rinpoche must have very good merits to be able to perform acts of offerings and also to be there to experience a day in the live of a Gaden Sangha. I rejoice for their act of kindness and may I too be able to do that in the near future.

  • What? That must be a lot of hard work. And this is AFTER the monks escaped from Tibet? These masters are great scholars and practitioners of Dharma and they had to physically build the monastery? That says a lot for these masters- they dont think that the job is below them, I guess thats why now you have Gaden Monastery reinstated in India and is growing.

  • Do you know that when the monastery first started, the monks, including many great masters, had to physically build the monastery from scratch, by cutting through the bushes/ trees, building the building themselves etc. I am very glad to see that the monks now can concentrate on learning and practising Buddhism instead of that

  • I am very inspired and I want to support the monks so they can carry on practising and teaching the Dharma. Without these monks, the Dharma will not be preserve for the next generation and the teachers that show us the path to enlightenment will be lost.

  • I think most of the pilgrims have never been to a Tibetan Monastery before and this must be a very great experience for them, to visit the mother monastery and to witness how hard the Sangha of Gaden work to promote and preserve the Buddhadharma.

  • Theres such positive energy with the chanting and rituals in the prayer hall. It must have been a really rejuvenating experience spiritually to be there to be part of all this. It is so great to be able to go there, I want to go there too

  • It is inspiring to see so many Sangha members. I think this is the first time in my life that I see so many Sangha members. They sacrifice their own pursuits and selfish goals in life in order to benefit others through learning, practising and teaching the Dharma.

  • Thank you Kechara Media & Publications for producing this documentary. I really love this video as it is informative, and it was as if I had gone with the pilgrims to Gaden.

  • I learnt from the video that making a khata offering is an expression of offering up of our wishes and aspirations . What a beautiful way to make a wish, beautiful flowy silk.

  • We can witness how generous Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and Kechara House is, because Rinpoche doesnt only make offerings to his own khangtsen or college, but Rinpoche made offerings to the whole Gaden Monastery of 3000 monks!

  • 3000 Manjushri statues, monk robes, re-tiling, painting the gold face of the statues, making clothes for the statues etc. Theres so much behind the scene work that we dont really see.

  • I rejoice for Tsem Tulku Rinpoche to come up with this book as the information in this book is essential, and will set a good foundation for those wishing to brave a Guru- Disciple relationship.

  • Gurus for Hire Enlightenment for Sale is a great beginners guide and also for those who are already on the path to learn more about the Guru Disciple relationship. This book made its debut at the London Book Fair in UK. Great job Kechara Media and Publications!

  • I think this book is a classic and should be listed as a must have for those who would like to engage or take on a Guru. People should really read this book to find out what a Guru-Disciple relationship is all about and how to serve ones Guru well.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche also shared this in his book, Gurus for Hire Enlightenment for Sale that explained why it is bad to centre-hop and what are the criteria to shop for a Guru and what to do after that. Its the essential must read if someone wants to start on this journey of Tibetan Buddhism or in the path with a Guru.

  • I like Tsem Tulku Rinpoche because he doesn't intend to convert people from another religion and discourages students from another Dharma center to join him, although he does willingly share Dharma with them. That shows that he really doesnt care about gathering students but really wants people to practice Dharma.

  • It is great to visit the very monastic university that was founded by Tsongkhapa, the great scholar and saint. To be among the holy monks who are the lineage holders of this great Buddhist tradition of study, debate and Dharma practice. What a rare opportunity!

  • I like watching the monks in Gaden Monastery. This video reminded me of those beautiful monasteries in Tibet that we see in documentaries on TV. I hope I have the chance to visit Gaden Monastery.

  • Tsem Rinpoche made a huge offering/contribution back to the mother monastery of Gaden Monastery, and this was not the first or last time. Tsem Rinpoche is really a dedicated student of Gaden Shartse Monastery.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and Kechara sure set the trend for offering! I am sure this offering will inspire others to be more generous and help to support the sangha wherever they are.

  • It is wonderful to learn that every single monk in the Gaden Monastery was offered a Manjushri statue and robe. According to video, this is the first time an offering of such was made to the monastery.

  • The staff/ volunteers must have worked very hard to organise this offering trip. The logistics of the trip, 3000 statues with clothes, 3000 sets of robes to be prepared, etc.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and Kechara House had benefitted a lot people through their modern approach to Dharma through the 12 departments, and they are strongly connected with their mother monastery, Gaden Monastery. How fortunate the people of Kechara organisation!

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is known for his unconventional approach to spreading dharma. Yet, we witness that Rinpoche has never break away from his root and his pure lineage of Gaden. The students are very fortunate to have a teacher from a pure lineage and direct from the monastery.

  • Tsem Rinpoche and Rinpoche students worked very hard to secure the sponsorship of 3,000 statues and the re-tiling of the Main Prayer Hall. Take a look at the Letters from Gaden Shartse Monastery to Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and Kechara House on their Kechara House website.

  • Yes, I respect the monks very much, they study to preserve the Buddhadharma, and to benefit all sentient beings. Their focus is for others while we pursue our selfish needs.

  • It is really wonderful to see how all the old and the young monks in the monastery accepting the offerings of robes & statues. The sight of thousands of monks in prayer & walking out of prayer hall with the beautiful Manjushri statues is awesome!

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche refers to Gaden Shartse as his home. He has never forgotten where he came from, and why he is in Malaysia. Although Rinpoche is far away, he said he is responsible for Gaden Shartse Monastery. You can see that Tsem Tulku Rinpoches dedication to make the Dharma grow and supporting the Sangha.

  • kamma works in mysterious ways... who knows what the future will bring ... We should thank China for helping spread tibetan buddhism throughout the world.

  • Let's pray for Lama Tsongkhapa's teachings to florish in main land China once again and other part of the world as well, in order to bring benefits to all sentient beings.

  • Lama Tsongkhapa was born in Amdo, between China and Tibet. By tradition, Chinese has always been pre-disposed towards Manjushri, heck even the holiest place associated with Manjushri is in China (Wu Tai Shan). The old emperors of China prayed exclusively to Lama Tsongkhapa (Manjushri in the form of a Guru) hence Yong He Gong. I believe the main Yidam of China in the future will be Lama Tsongkhapa once again.
