There are many country's out there that do take it seriously, sometimes too seriously! But I am so happy that for once Eurovision is finaly a song contest and the poitical voting had kind of stopped! I have actually lived in the UK and travelled around Europe and the British are some of the nicest most welcoming people in Europe and i met far more rude and arrogant people in other countries including Portugal than i ever did in the UK! Why is he called one of the world's greatest composers when he can only get fifth in Eurovision? Something doesn't add up. Iceland's ballad was head and shoulders above the UK entry and wasnt written by someone with Webber's reputation.
Well it comes down to personal preference doesn't it. The winner - and the song that has scored highest in the history or Eurovision - was an upbeat bouncy song. Our's was a ballad, they're only really comparable in which kind of song you prefer. However if you look at the places we've come in the last decade you'll see how much difference it made to have him on board. Though personally I prefer it when we send someone as bad as possible lol, Eurovision is all about it being hilariously awful.
Since when was there a set designation that Eurovision has to be hilariously awful? It's like saying the World Cup is all about what the WAGs have had for their lunch and how they cut their hair, i.e., completely wrong.

You know that's quite a ridiculous generalization. I live in Edinburgh and work part-time in a shop in the centre of the city. One of the things people remark about up here is just how friendly the people in Edinburgh are. I hear it all the time from visitors.

Hello, NatyS86. I have no idea what the results were toningt, but I had a feeling that - since ALW was involved - the disasters in recent years for the UK would be over.
Russia is geographically more in Asia, but clearly the political, economic and cultural basis of Russia (basically the REAL Russia) is in Europe. They have every right to participate in European activities.
Besides, Israel is 100% in Asia and they participate in Eurovision.

Most of Russia belongs to Asia, they shouldn't take part Eurovision, Euro Cup in soccer, and many other Euro competitions.

Russia is geographically more in Asia, but clearly the political, economic and cultural basis of Russia (basically the REAL Russia) is in Europe. They have every right to participate in European activities.
Besides, Israel is 100% in Asia and they participate in Eurovision.

Personally I think that Chiara ~(malta's singer) is the voice of this eurovision and I do not agree with Jade saying that her's is the only ballad as iceland and malta's songs are both ballads!

Well what can one say? Good performer, bad song. As a Brit this wouldn't get my vote even if it were possible. Lloyd Webber - like Mr Wogan before him - obviously has no idea what makes a good Eurovision song. He does however know how to get plenty of free publicity!
