  • You could disuss the crosswinds and the knots but.. this airport is famous for its crosswinds so for me it looks like a construction mistake of the airport...

  • I flew into LBA last year. Freakin' awesome! Twice as good as PIK's crosswinds and without the windshear lol!!!

  • ex-BA aircraft & crew

  • nice

  • This is the highest airport in England and subject to vicious crosswinds on a regular basis. My daughter's flight landed there in May and said it was terrifying, she thought they were going to crash. The pilot aborted the landing once and said that if he had to do it a second time they would have to divert to another airport.

  • Chuck Norris can do that blindfolded with one hand on the yoke and the other eating.

  • Fricken hell! I'm not gonna lie that even had me like glued to my screen!!!

  • Flybe!!!

  • Beautiful I bet it was even smoother than a normal landing ;)

  • @MrCoffis Lol yeah at least it looks like that... :O

  • It's actually not a side-slip. That would be used to reduced altitude. What the pilot was doing is called "crabbing into the wind" what that allows is for your path to remain straight but your nose will be any number of degrees off the path. Depending on how strong the wind is will depend how much of a correction is needed.

  • Impressive.

  • I Live IN Leeds :o

  • Hello...; I had a flight like that to Leeds from Brussels airport. We had a touch and go and missed the landing. Then the 2nd one was the one, but my feelings inside the plane was like what I see here. Everybody was crying when we stopped and they closed the Leeds Bradford Airport after us. Do you know when this has been taken ?

  • thumbs up if your the 640,492 viewer!!!!!!!

  • super-pilot !!!!

  • Your video reports this spectacular landing in a way so the viewer can understand - very nicely done! Even if we would like to have more "wheels" at the end.

  • Very gusty and windy indeed :)...cool video

  • great

  • brilliance.

  • Give that pilot a cigar...

  • Very nice landing, it's difficult but the pilot it's very good, nice !!

  • Just another routine landing on 'Packed Faced' airlines! (tit)

  • iv'e worked at LBIA for 12 years and i'm still amazed at the skill off the pilots.its always windy at leeds

  • Inspires you to want to become a pilot,Just amazing !! (:

  • British Pilots rock!

amazing landing i must say! what else?

  • I wonder how many browned passenger seats the attendants had to clean up prior to the next flight...

  • snip snap joo

  • Very good landing! Also very windy!:)

  • beautiful landing and beautiful BRASILIAN made aircraft

  • Masterfully done!

  • You could see it coming into land over NW Leeds and it didn't look good. You were worrying for the worst, but a great job from the pilot.

  • He used the FORCE, Baby!!!

  • TOTALLY blew me away! AWWWWW sum!

  • Wow! That's some landing!

  • Absolutely awesome job, in really shitty but not unusual conditions at Leeds in the freaky little barbie jet. Clocked 1200 hours shoehorned into these machines but thankfully never had to face conditions quite as tasty as this. Great job guys. Textbook crosswind approach and landing.

  • perfect job!

  • Répondre à cette vidéo... wow great landing and great pilots !!! nice video

  • Probably flys a taildragger too!

  • Man and machine... nicely captured.

  • Great show in that lumpy air!

  • What a nice job!

  • Keep it a little fast for the gusts, sideslip as needed for the crosswind, be ready to go-around if conditions dictate. All in a nomal days work for the pro pilot.

  • i hate flying, if i was on the plane i'd be very scared

  • I guess they used a lot of barf bags in there. :-)

  • That doesn't even look possible. I can't imagine having skills like that. That's just...wow.

  • If this happened in my plane, I would never fly again in my life!

  • I would have kissed the pilot for being so good at this and keeping me safe...lmao...

  • What a masterpiece of landing!!!

  • meh.

  • total control^^

  • I think the plane was weaving quite much when approaching. Surely the pilot could keep it more stable? But near ground the pilot focused more and landed beautifully.

  • @TheKulkematon He DID keep it stable. It was the wind that was moving the plane.

  • Comment removed

  • Erm actually it wasn't....The plane being in that position was intentional in order to fight the wind speed... It's called a 'Side-Slip' manouvere. It's also used to reduce speed if Hydraulics fail

  • Aterrizaje Excelente Piloto de Primera, aunque la ONU El Que filmo El video le falto mas Bajar la camara .

  • Thanks guys but i did shit my pants!

  • this pilot feels what he does and is in total control.

  • WOW what a Master

  • Who is that pilot? Deserves an award and a raise.

  • holy hell. i mean...HOLY FREAKIN HELL! I own a very small plane and I won't go out with more than 8 knots direct cross. That landing was a freakin thing of beauty. Great skills. Damn!

  • @gregarious121 i know we all as pilots have our comfort limits but i wouls suggest that if you are nervous flying with an 8 knot cross wind you should go up with an instructor in stronger winds. you never know when you might get caught out and the winds pick up. could save your life one day.... just a suggestion but you are right, awesome flying in a strong cross wind...

  • @toospeed31 i agree with you great landing ,,but 121 needs to practice in stronger winds with someone because you never know when you will be up and things change for the worst,,,all my training in 172 and warriors were in 10 to 17kts with 26 gusts ( initial training was limited to 5kts) and yes i know those numbers are above the design limits of those aircraft but you never know when you will need those skills even with proper planning things can change

  • @toospeed31 thanks for your unsolicited suggestion.

  • @gregarious121 you are very welcome

  • @gregarious121 u pussy!

8 knot straight across childs play and the norm for us at leeds bradford!

  • wow nice

  • in your next vid show more of the runway

  • Mother nature was toss'in this bird all over! Hard work for the P1 hack sawing at the yolk, followed by just the right amount (and well timed) input of right rudder just before touchdown. It's the rough ones that are the most satisfying.

  • I do not enjoy flying at the best of times, if I had been on that flight I would absolutely have shit myself !!

  • i bet the pax were glad to get off that flight. Amazing capture

  • nice

  • best crosswind landing... EVER!!!

  • Landing at LBA is a total bitch, the rad alt goes looney tunes.....sweet landing.

  • Wow you can see the wind pushing the plane even on the ground.

  • excellent Jop....

    Thank you xlinchx...

  • excellent landing!

  • i may be nieve but was he chasing the instrements or was it a very strong cross wind

  • quite good job

  • SWEET!

  • Great stuff.

  • woahh! that was awesome! <3 SKILLS!

  • That's what we call "SKILLS"...!!!

  • I want him flying the next plane i'm on!

  • @MyRoomStudio1 Agreed!

  • FUCK.....YEAH.....

  • fairplay i bet that took some nerve to do super pilot :D

  • Give that pilot a beer and the passengers new undies.

  • HOLY F---ING SHIT !!

  • High-5 to that pilot!!!!!!

  • Good job, also if i thought the pilot was completely drunk for a while!

  • You can't see it's making a crosswind landing untill it lines up for the runway :P Awesome!

  • pilotnya hebat ga salut

  • Pretty good

  • hard working pilot....

    good!

  • fucking awesome !! That is one hell of a pilot !!

  • Smooth as you like

  • Good skills.

  • Yes, he may be a skilled pilot. But I have to question his judgement to attempt landing in those conditions.

It's just not worth the risk.

  • @eerockk111 The pilots judgement was spot on, there is very little risk, pilots train for these type of landings (and worse). You have to land! I remember the day this was taken, and it was very very windy everywhere in the UK so even if they diverted it would have been just as bad at another airport. It just looks bad because it is a relativity small airliner. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't have enjoyed the landing but those guys do an amazing job and don't take risks with peoples lives!

  • of course it's worth the risk it's inside aircraft limits you idiot

  • Absolutely FANTASTIC!

  • bloody hell! thats one good landing man cant get better than that. CRJ700 coped well in that conditions like. But i bet thep passengers through up though. lol

  • That is one skillfull pilot!

  • Outstanding job man!!

  • X-wind landings don't get much better than that. Very nice.

  • Poor passengers ...

    Fantastic video, 5 stars!

  • Fantático !!!

    Piloto nota 10.

  • Mad skills!

  • thanks guys it was quite hard iv had worse

  • fantastic genius pilot and good machine

  • o famoso vento lateral, ainda eh um dos grandes fatores que põe a prova pilotos e o oque os diferenciam de amadores!.

  • wow, indeed!

  • My hat is off to the pilot! Take takes some serious skill! ...and maybe a little luck =P

  • brazilin!brazilian erj145 crazy jet the best jet

  • @xperito1 Larga mão de ser deslumbrado, cara.... se não consegue ser, ao menos tente parecer como um cidadão de primeiro mundo.

  • tem que ser uma maquina brasileira mesmo !!!!!!!!

  • amazing i wish id be as good as that one day maybe in10 years when i start my career becuase im in 9nth grade

  • I guess the passengers got pretty sick... ;-) But the pilots made it. Good job !

  • Fantastic landing... perfect. Fuck you wind...

  • that....is........AMAZING.

  • i would like to see him land in this crosswind on an A380. =D

  • @787 plscomein: The bigger the easier! (It can be so bad that you almost can't read the instruments).

  • wooooow amazing piloting!!heavy crosswind whit a perfect landing!!passenger have to pay him a drink! =) great job man!!

  • Fantastic, true skill.

Hopefully one day I can be as good as that!

  • WOW !

  • god thats what u call a pilot! if he wasnt flying that, it couldve gone horribly wrong!

  • Excellent landing but perhaps the pilot should have considered diverting.

  • Comment removed

  • Buy that pilot a bottle of whatever he wants and put it on my tab. Flawless!

  • ex fighter pilot im sure

  • Why? I think you are underestimating a lot of pilots...

  • @vouligny : all pilots learn to land with cross wind .

  • @bothcut Not like this fucking ninja

  • A good pilot does a dangerous, risky approach and with his skills and some luck everything goes OK... 99.9% of the times. An even better, safer pilot avoids too much risk and detours safely to an alternate.

Gung-ho pilots don't tend to live long but in the other hand they make great YouTube videos.

  • @klavss76

dude is lucky he didn't hit that giant metal tower thingy on the way in. guy's got massive balls though that's for sure.

  • Ah the joys of landing. Strong changing front coming in there - nice work.

  • awesome!!.. very good pilot skills!!.. so cool!!

  • There is an art to crosswind landings and this guy has it down to a T.

  • I don't want to take anything away from this pilot, but - on top of being good ... he was also very lucky to 'catch it' just right.

  • Sound really cool! i live in southampton and i go to the airport there looking at the flybes and other planes, give me a buzz when you watch them take off or land!

it must be an amazing job being cabin crew or pilots, but not thins week with all the snow delaying flights and some not going at all! :\

  • @DirectorPhilip Yeah that sound about right

what they done is sold the BAe 146 and the E145's, that helped pay for the E195's and some new Dash 8's

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • That is NUTS

He only lines up with the runway at the last second!

    Mental...

I would NOT want his job...

  • That's the safest way to land in a crosswind

  • As usual YouTube tards give me -2

My comment outlines how difficult a job it is to be a pilot, and 2 retards disagree with me.

I'm sorry in your strange world view, being a pilot is easy, and landing in a crosswind this hard is something you could do.

Well why don't you go and try to land that plane, idiots.

  • Damn! it's better than fly by wire :D

  • great flying skill !

  • This is why flybe is grate :D

no wonder why there one of Europes best airline :)

  • looks beaittiful on first time :D

  • Amazing

  • now imagine the pax, actually WATCHING the runway from their window while on approach...

geee that was bumpy, credits to the flight crew, but, should they have missed it;voices would have said that they never should have taken the decision to land

  • Now THAT was Excellent!!!

  • I would fly with that crew anytime, props !!!!

  • it´s amazing the way, the pilot take control of the aircraft when they land!!!!

  • what were the wind and weather conditions like during final approach and landing??? I would guess that there was very stiff crosswinds greater than 5 degrees and at at least 15 knots so there must have been severe crosswind component??? fair play to the Captain & First Officer for doing an amazing job!!! xxxx

  • For the conditions a normal landig.

  • Great job by the pilots!

  • impressive!! amazing job by the pilots!!!

  • sti cazzi!!! perfect pilot

  • Take a look,go on,study just what the pilots did that day, think they could do with a pat on the back for that landing,

  • yeah he "landed the plane"...considering you probably cant even parallel park a Civic I wouldn't expect you to understand this.

  • try flying a plane in a stiff crosswind like that and then we'll see who's mocking who.

  • Weldone.

  • JEZUS!!!!! all respect goes to the pilot!

  • OMG !!!

    Where are the restrooms ?

  • angedriftete landung, sehr stylisch :D
