Mantis's are so awesome! They are confident, dissociative, curious hunters. When they are adults they don't run from a fight, they will hold their ground and attack no matter the size. After a while when it realizes your not a threat, it will actually become curious. and start crawling all over you trying to find a nice spot to perch.

this one seems roughly the same size as an adult hierodula membranacea (asian mantis). I don't know much about the hooded mantis though but judging from pictures and footage I think this species is usually about 1-2cm smaller on average . But size is of no importance when it comes to the beauty of a mantis imo.

I love to see Mantis' around my house. I saw one last summer with my kids and I pulled it down from the tree and showed them and they were just amazed by it with the way it turns it's head. Beautiful creatures! Now my kids will hold them with ease.
