It appears they are catching and the releasing.. Which is a very common practice.. Its fun to catch big game. And exilerating to watch it swim away. I do the same. Only a few actually die from catching them.. Sometimes its hard to not kill them if hook is stuck in the gills or down their throat...

Most sharks are realeased unharmed or eaten. There are regualtions in place to make sure that populations are not hurt by fishing and that is why some species are not allowed to be caught.

Considering you are more likely to be killed by a falling coconut then a shark attack... certain animals by nature are agressive, sharks being one of them, and when a shark attacks a human, it is a case of mistaken identity they mainly hunt seals and stuff, and when swimming above them we look like seals, or they are curious, when we examine stuff, we use our hands, sharks dont have hands so they use their mouths, their mouths just happen to have razor sharp teeth. yes, sharks should not be hunted and eaten. but i have no qualms about catch-and-release. sharks do not need to be babied like that, they can take a bit of pain. we Army guys take a lot of pain, and i don;t hear you complaining about that. leave it be, and go fight the real fight, the shark fisherman that strip the fins off of sharks. those guys need your attention, and a good bitch slap.

I imagine that it's about the same for a shark, there's a difrence if a human does it to them or if they get injured from anoter shark.

these sharks arent dead, people usually release them. And considering sharks will chew on anything including sharp metal objects and boats not to mention swimmers a little hook time wont hurtem for long. NOW if your talking killing a whole shark to make fin soup like they do in japan and china thats plain dumb. but so is leather seats and fur coats and leather car interiors, you see were all stupid, but nature has a way of staying alive.

It appears they are catching and the releasing.. Which is a very common practice.. Its fun to catch big game. And exilerating to watch it swim away. I do the same. Only a few actually die from catching them.. Sometimes its hard to not kill them if hook is stuck in the gills or down their throat...

Most sharks are realeased unharmed or eaten. There are regualtions in place to make sure that populations are not hurt by fishing and that is why some species are not allowed to be caught.
So explain to me why it should be illegal.

I didn't mean that all shraks are almost extinct, just some breeds of them are. and my information wasn't baseless. i got it from a registered whaling station in western australia, that has been turned into a museum. They show movies on whales, whaleing and sharks. According to that movie, which was put together by scientists(!!) some breeds of sharks are almost extinct due to overfishing..
