Funny he should say this. Always loved his tone and general guitarness. But at times the perfection thing gets in the way of my enjoyment somehow. Not because i need it gritty - i dont - just it gets a bit marble statuesque. I miss hearing him just rip carelessly and bare his a s s. He rips live but the emotion and spontaneity often seems kept inside an aware, selective structure and can come across a bit doctored. I understand his fascination with jimmy that way.

Yeah... Ibanez and Fender are two completely different types of guitar and it really depends what you really want. However in my humble opinion I think Fender make higher quality instruments. I own a few Ibanezs myself and yes they are good guitars but theres just something special about a real American Strat. Its like driving a fast Jap sports car and then suddenly discovering a Porsche 911. Theres nothing wrong with either but the Porsche just has that mojo.

i think of a strat as more of the classic american muscle than a porsche. its kinda like the working mans guitar. a lot of people mod their cars and a lot of people mod their strats to supe them up. thats how i see it anyway.

Agree. Fenders aren't really of better quality than a similarly-priced Ibanez, but they do have a different feel. I like both for different reasons. In my opinion, Ibanez guitars are good heavy rock instruments, with low action, wide, flat fretboards with big frets, and powerful pickups, and are incredibly reliable. Fenders are finicky, high-maintenance, old school guitars. But the tone is so unique, and the shape is so classic.

Thats just not true. There are guitar players from every genre of music that plays just about any brand of guitars. Sure the tone gets difrent, its a different guitar but I reject the statement that, say Fender guitars, just dosnt work for country of metal. Any guitar works its just your preferance as a player that decides. Trust me. Look it up if you dont ;)

neither is better, u cant say there is a better guitar, ur paying for wood and a name, so because one is more exspensive doesnt make it better, it all depends on what feels better for you

Yea, the only reason i like Ibanez more is their modern look, when it comes down to it, its just their style, not so much their sound.

I would have to say I like Ibanez over fender because of the neck. I hate chunky necks, and fender has a pretty thick neck. My guitar playing is based on the feel.

A good musician can use anything to make music.
