basically all u do is add a mask to the copied layer, then use the gradiant tool. It causes the layer to fade out to nothing.

i clicked the 'tick' icon in the top righthand corner and my cursor has turned in2 a hand icon instead of an arrow evn afda i click the arrow tool or choose another tool it remains the same, help sum1

easy way-

dupe the text layer,ctrl+t, transform down, put opacity down.
