mainland haoles support your economy, without that hawaii would be a poor state. You are a tourist economy, so tourist support hawaii, not native hawaiians. Don't complain about homeless haoles coming to live there either because you are compensated in haole tourist money and money from Washington. WAke up and learn before you speak.
@PHANTOMSLAYER77 See you later, nigger. Pull your pants up and stop licking your lips. It makes you look stupid. Oh, that's right, you are stupid. Don't forget your toothbrush in Heaven, Mr. Holy roller
@PHANTOMSLAYER77 I'm going to ask him for his account. That fucker needs to ask us all for his forgiveness. Some piece of shit egoist he must be to have us ask him for forgiveness. That fucker should be so lucky. Anyway, have your fantasy's. You missed the boat on May 21. Perhaps God will come around next year and give you a ride on his flying rabbit.
@PHANTOMSLAYER77 Grow up? I'm a married man who earned two degrees while you were out spraying graffiti on some guys wall. I'm far too intelligent to believe in poor peoples fantasy's about some wizard in the sky. I have earned and saved more money than you will ever see in your pathetic lifetime, I assure you. Only poor people need a God, because they don't have anything else but delusions of being "special". Me? I'm a realist!
This was shocking for us as well when we were touring the island. You captured some of the better places. There were alot of homeless on Waikiki Beach as well. They would sleep in the pavilions and dig through the trash at night. Honestly i didn't see any of them bothering anyone. I just feel bad that there were soo many.
Just about all locals are friendlier than where I live now. Don't throw your ego around and you have no problems. Chicago is another worm all together.
I'm talking about tourists, not some transplanted haole who's "lived there for 10 years" (oh aren't you local now?) Any mainland tourist that makes a wrong turn into that part of hawaii may be in for a rude awakening. If you lived there for 10 years, you know it and i know it. I guess "Beat up haole day" never existed either.
BTW, there is a big difference between being homeless and being a bum. Homeless people can be helped and they want help, Bums do not want help, just a hand out.
@ckcelite Now a days it's not about being a bum the economy is making it nearly impossible for people to care for themselves.. We should not criticize people if we don't know their circumstances.
@MrGlowster I am not criticizing the homeless, I only stated facts. I can smell the urine, should I pretend that i cannot? I didn't say anything bad about the homeless, it's just the whole situation that's sad. and about my other comment, if just one tourist family per day decides not to come back to HI for next year vacation, and on avg they spend 5k per vacation, that's almost $2M. Of course business and tourists are leaving because of the situation. that will make it even worse for them.
@ckcelite No I am sorry I understand what you are saying. I should not of said what I did in a defensive manner. I could imagine this ruins the economy down there. But what I see is people are losing the will to keep struggling in this world. I think alot of those people have given up and decided to opt out of the struggle. This world has made it difficult and unrewarding to do the right thing. I see both plights.
If just one tourist a day looks at the homeless problem and says "honey, lets not vacation in hawaii next year, lets try fiji instead for a change" it will cost hawaii millions.
The homeless are all over, there are two parks next to me, both filled with homeless. they had to shut off the beautiful fountain and pool because they were bathing and urinating in it. a block away you can already smell it. gross.

This is real Hawaii, not Waikiki. Tourists stay away unless you want your rental car broken into or be assaulted at worst case scenario.

This is considered the homeless in paradise.
