Not sure about the others but Kurt preferred "Punk" more than "Grunge". Which I kinda agree with him. The Melvins and Alice in Chains is grunge. Nirvana seems as an "other" compared to them. But that's me, being more punk rock oriented. It really depends on YOUR ears.

Well, I feel that the Bleach album was pretty grungy and its my favorite as where as Incestiside had a more punky feel to it. Nevermind was punky too. I thought Inutero was grungy though with Radio unit Friendly Shiter and Scentless Apprentice, although Very Ape was punkish.
