@sukautube The E72 is far better than the 8520. hands down. My girlfriend has the 8520 and it's pretty low on features compared to this. This is better in every way, except maybe the good blackberry operating system and the nicer screen on the 8520. definitely buy the E72 though, or even the E71 for half the price.

Hi...the Omnia gave me the shits. If you like Nokia and in particular the E71, I would be telling you to get an E72 for sure. The Samsung / windows UI is cumbersome at best and really tried my patience. Have to charge it every night which got the better of me on weekends etc.

The flash you see is only used for focusing before the pic is taken. You can't switch it off completely.

I have the E71. Amazing phone. Does everything I need it to do. Calls, messaging, photos, music, wifi, vids, email, etc. The symbian OS allows for even more capabilities. Now it just needs to find itself a buyer so i can buy this new one LOL

As soon as you do that, Nokia will leak information about an E72 Supreme slated for release later in the year, just to keep you constantly unsatisfied and always wanting more. That's Nokia's style. The E71 is a great phone & better than most. Be satisfied. Enjoy it.

This phone is awesome. Guess this is one of the best qwertys ever made. certain improvements would be

1. Instead of 15 FPS, they should have made it 30 FPS camera.

2. This looks more like E63. They should have stuck with E71 design.

3. There is a 3.5 mm jack, but no video out facility.

I would never consider this as a dealbreaker. Maybe something nokia should look in to.. I am getting this phone for sure. I was going to get N97 but changed my mind...

i love my nokia e71 and was afraid that nokia will bring out a completely different successor, but i was wrong and this phone seems to be a step forward. i wish this e71 serie stays as it is for years with little changes and become a cult like volkswagen golf, because the phone is nearly perfect. thanks nokia for this great experience.

Having owned an E71, the E72 addresses the main shortcomings: lacklustre camera and 2.5mm jack. Seriously, those were the only problems.

The optical key will make scrolling faster (one thing the BlackBerry and the iPhone did better), and the new animations are slick to go with it.

The 'alternative' N97, for those like myself who don't want a touchscreen. Love it.

The E71 came out nearly a year ago. It's not Nokia's fault it took you early a year to get "ready to buy" it. Nearly every manufacturer comes out with an updated model yearly. It's nothing new.

While I can see your point, I also agree with eddyjackson. I am also from the States. I only buy unlocked phones anyways. I doubt AT&T will pick up this phone anyways. It will probably only sell unlocked because AT&T will not release it just after they got the e71x. That's the problem with buying smartphones, especially in the States and on contract. Costs more to buy unlocked, but you can do so much more with it. Good thing AT&T doesn't know I use my phone as a WiFi hotspot.

I know some people are going to dislike the optical pad instead of the traditional D-pad but I think it's brilliant. Nokia's marketing team is clever as well, because people who dislike it can simply buy the E71 or E75.
