İ have been listening old nightwish songs everday.i just listened their new songs 4 or 5 times because when tarja sing i feel something in my heart however when anette sing i cannot feel anything. forget their voices everyone knows anette does not have strong voice for metal band. The most difference is what you feel.Therefore anetta sucks.
Nightwish used to be something special. A band that played metal AND opera. It made them unique and special. Now they just sound like any modern day rock band.... Anette isn't bad, but she's just a generic mainstream singer, Tarja was a godess.
You should realize, that even if Tarja is a better singer then Anette (imo she is), she isnt able to sing most of anettes songs, like Anette could neither sing Tarjas. Even if u love Tarja that much, u have to realize that Anette CAN sing. If not, ur earblind.

@MoarBlacky Anette can sing? Listen to some of her live exhibitions, not only the studio records because anything can be corrected in studio! Anette is often out of tune and she's not able to hit high notes without straining or sounding terribly throaty! That's the truth! Tarja's not perfect (no one is perfect) but she's a very good singer with a good technique and with a very nice tymbre (and she's even more expressive than Anette). And I also think that Tarja could sing Anette's song better!

Anette is a better stage performer then Tarja I think, Tarja truly did just one thing...singing.. but nothing more. She's doin a great job, but I like it more if the Band is playing with the audience, not just for them. Sure, I would kill for being at a Tarja+Nightwish concert, but Tarjaconcert in summer does also..like Nightwish witout Tarja. Sry for my terrible eng >.<

Toumas should have man up and talked to her instead of throwing her out on ass through an open letter, nonetheless. And Tarja has songs directed to Toumas (one, specifically, but I suspect there are others). Listen to that, too. And Tarja is doing just fine.

@savagevcb Me too, when I first started listening to Nightwish I was too young to be able to see them live because I live too far away and right when I was able to was in 2007. I now really feel deprived of the fact I'll never be able to see them live. They truly look like they're enjoying it, and at the end of the concert they're all hugging.

Guys you need to understand that the old NW has gone.The Nightwish is not a symphonic metal band anymore.It's something new and different but it's not so bad as well.I dislike though the fact they picked Anette as their singer cause this lady has PoP influences (Michael Jackson,Lady Gaga,Madonna).
PoP influences push you to write PoP songs.Don't expect her to sing like Tarja

A) There are many good bands which are uknown. I really doubt that NW would've reach such success without Tarja as lead singer.

It wasn't Tarja's fault. Or at least, not entirely. Toumas is just to blame for the kicking of Tarja as much as she is. Toumas should have man up and talked to her instead of throwing her out on ass through an open letter, nonetheless. And Tarja has songs directed to Toumas (one, specifically, but I suspect there are others). Listen to that, too. And Tarja is doing just fine.
