@Paine1978 That wasn't the point that Cowell was trying to make, though. The point he was making was that, if the entire issue of Cole's denunciation of Wagner laid on the fact that she publicly embarrassed Wagner, then the caller shouldn't publicly be trying to embarrass Cole, whether she would have any other alternative or not. I myself have seen a lot more of these interviews from Xtra Factor, and these judges actually take a lot of the criticisms about them seriously and intelligently.

@Paine1978 However, there is a line that is set between the judge and the caller, like there is in any other interview in any other medium. The caller in the video making a comment that should have been in the comments section on Youtube was clearly crossing the line of respect and decency. Cole answered the same issue about Wagner in another interview just fine, when it was asked maturely.

Well, Cheryl Cole brought on the real, and all those people seemed to have changed their position quite quickly, ironically. I was even more surprised that all the Rage against the Machine people last year didn't jump for joy when Cher Lloyd got the light. Wasn't a non-pop-like singer all they wanted? Both Cheryl and Simon made themselves look the completel pratts with their responses to this caller.
The moment Cheryl decided to air her feelings towards Wagner in public then her comments, which were not only unprofessional but irrelevant when it came to Wagner's performance, came under public scrutiny, and therefore all the caller was doing was excercising her right to call Cheryl out on it.
Cheryl's been a disgace and I'm really pleased someone called her out on one part of her disgrace.

I agree about Freedom of Speech, which was exactly my point concerning the caller - and yet it was argued, and has been argued, that she was bang out of order for making Cheryl accountable for her comment. Cheryl's job on X-Factor, in this situation, is to judge a competitor's performance, it is not to air personal grievances against them.
